Attracting more people to play Support

SlashStriker··3 votes·504 views

Here some general questions

How are you going to attract Assassins to play support? Or skirmishers?

Why are Velkoz Velkoz and Annie Annie suddenly became Supports?

Don't you think you need more Hybrid Supports?

What about AD Assassins as Support? Assassins care about Kills and Cleanups or focusing important targets for assassination ADC cares about gaining gold from CS So in theory these two roles will not interfere with each other. Assassins are gonna pressure the enemy ADC from farming by harassing them with massive damage while Assassins's ADC will farm

Or what about Support champion who is like Katarina Katarina that is easily able to get in, do as much damage as possible and get out?

So what i am trying to say is create champions that are Supports but play like another role?

Assassins do not have enough prssure. They would just be repeatedly harassed out of lane.

Imagine a champion like Katarina Katarina who has Shield and Resets at the same time Dash in with shield, Do damage, Dash out

Kat is the easiest Assassin to outplay.

if you have a dash and some ranged thing like ekkos q or talons w you could stay back to level up then all in at level 3 or 6

I think that zed and ekko and master yi could but not rengar.

Most Assasins are melee champs and squishy. They will be out harassed by legit supports, and they dont have the tools to "peel" the adc.

Assasin supports ? Free double kills for the enemy bot lane that has a proper support. I wish someone would try bullshit like Yi or Kat support when I play Leona.

assassins are bad supports because they are not safe and rely on snowball

almost any safer burst/control mage is a somehow decent support like veigar, syndra, lux, ahri, orianna and the likes

also supports are the easiest class to get s with

Teemo Kayle ? Jax ? ehehehe jk jk but..

Honestly i'm on board with some people in "Gameplay" asking for Teemo being changed to like a Legit jungle.. Possible Support?

Jax

And why the fk not exactly?

Counter Strike - Active: Jax enters a defensive stance for up to 2 seconds, causing all basic attacks against him to miss. Jax also takes 25% reduced damage from all area of effect abilities

So yeah how about a Support who is similar to Jax Jax?

I play Teemo against Vayne just because of Blind.. Sooooo WHY NOT?! Jax Support.

Because there is no reason to pick that champion for that position and no reason to pick that position for that champion.

Jax excels as a scaling duelist; why pick the position that handicaps that the most?

If one is looking for a support that can soak enemy aggression, why not pick someone who is strong early when it matters as support? Why wouldn't one just pick Leona? Or Nautilus?

Teemo and Kayle were both designed for the support role. Consequently, they can both fulfill its functions. They just don't do so quite as well as your more standard supports. Of fun note, Maokai was also designed to be a support. And I'll play him down there every now and then and do rather ok.

I liked someone's Idea of giving teemo the "Nidalee" treatment.

I play teemo as a support anyways, so if they make him more "Support" I would love that..

They said something about.. Passive : One with the jungle: Which gives him his Passive E poison and Camoflague,. Q is still blinding Dart. W is still move Quick, E is now his Mushrooms. (NERFed of course) Personally I'd love if they were visible, still slowed though.. and untargetable..

They said they wanted a Bard Passive for R. Where you go around to collect Mushrooms...

They said instead of putting points in your R you would instead have 6 points for each ability..

This would make him a GREAT JUNGLE... But if you need to leave lane and collect mushrooms that makes him a pretty useless Support. But I thought the No ultimate and 6 points abilities was a really cool and Unique Idea..

I should find the post.. It's Burried somewhere.. Ugh..

Oh yea that teemo jungle change i mentioned a bit.. it was by "Aharmlesstaco" who im gonna guess is also a teemo player..

I liked their general direction of trying to find a new place for teemo than top.

I think mages and marksmen should switch roles since the mid lane is more important to be in. You will always have to be doing damage so when you don't use mana or energy for damage its better. Also it would be super easy to take down turrets since supports cant accidently steal your c-s.

bewcuase both annie and vel have some sort of peeling and enaggeing and annie has been a supp for like 3 years now

Chances are, anyone with enough damage (base or scaling) to farm or split push, basically is, and will be balanced around the solo lane. (Cause that will inevitably be their strongest position.)

Secondly, Any AD support item would likely get abused by the ADC, unless it was melee only. And even if it was, It might only push Assassins to be alternative to the ADC rather than the support, since they are otherwise item dependent with little utility to offer their team. (Such a push may not be a bad thing, if people are tired of playing Marksmen bot lane.)

Technically anybody with a form of buff/debuff can support. It's why champion like Vel koz and Xerath can as well support. Pantheon used to support. Probably could still do it, only issue there is no AD money item for him to utilize and I doubt they introduce one because it would benefit ADC as well. J4 was another I've seen support in the past. Assasins do not have CC. They could snowball in bot lane, it is a possibility, but if they don't and they fail, they would fall even harder on their asses than if the were to fail Mid lane.
