Preferred approach for Mordekaiser? (Poll)

Anything but these horrendous proposals from riot o_O
Why exactly do you think they're horrendous? He's not exactly useful at all as he is.
I think they're more like "unfinished" instead of horrendous. They're about half-way there to making Mordekaiser work as a fighter, they just need the other pieces.

They might need the unfinished Mord to live before they can even figure out what pieces they actually need. (and hopefully don't forget about it)
That's where I find everybody would be worried then. There is a rather high chance of both Veigar and Morde being left in the dust after 5.4 since Riot isn't always so great at following up after changing a champion. That's why there tends to be outcry before changes go live rather than after.
edit: I should mention they haven't even fully implemented the changes on PBE. Mordekaiser's shield still decays in combat, health costs are the same, his W does not give the buff to both your ally and yourself (nor does the movement speed buff work), and his HP Regen is the same. The only thing that is actually changed on there is shield generation and his damage.
It's fine if Riot wants to make fundamental changes to Mordekaiser's playstyle to make him better fit with his theme and lore.
However these changes are shabby band-aid fixes that do not make him any more useful or fun to play.
He needs a full rework, asap, just like Sion, Sivir, Soraka, Trundle, etc.
Look, I get that "I can delete any squishy that wanders in range without delays or skillshots" is something that Riot is trying to remove from the game, but Mordekaiser literally has nothing else going for him. If he's going to lose burst damage, he could be given immortality, he'd still be kited and ignored.
This! Sion provides great cc and therefore can't be ignored. The only reason to pick Morde was for his damage and durability, both of which are going to be nerfed HARD. He'd basically be ignored constantly and rendered unable to carry games to the lack of damage and survivability. Sigh...
Riot had good ideas with the shield generation, they just need to do some other things to make him work as a bruiser rather than heavy burst mage. His Q kind of carries all his damage with the PBE changes (and focuses on AD), which is kind of bad considering his lack of mobility and CC. Perhaps they could lower the bonus AD ratio down from 1.6 to like 1.2, increase AP Ratio to ~70% AP (regardless of isolation), then give his W some scaling outside of AP (% Bonus HP?).

they just made his Bonus AD ratio the same as it was for his isolated damage on live
He might still buy Gunblade on occasion but I doubt it
I have a feeling that Trinity Force will probably be seen often on Mordekaiser if PBE changes go through (constant sheen procs through Q). His AP Scaling just isn't so great on there anymore and if they want people to build tanky then I imagine bruiser items will become more popular. And its a bonus AD ratio, not Total AD. His Q doesn't even deal his base AD as damage, the base damage on his Q overrides that entirely.
I think Gunblade could be good on him. A little bit of CC, sustain, slight damage boost. We'll have yet to see.

Not a bad idea because of the Health + MS + Sheen
Only way I will ever buy sheen on mordekaiser is for Lich Bane. Season 1 and 2 mordekaiser had the possibility of playing bruiser becuase the old Lich bane existed, and FoN mixed with Lich gave him the mobility he needed, the mr he needed, and countered his hp costs all while allowing him to duel with the best bruisers this game had to offer. Since the removal of them both bruiser mordekaiser will probably not be strong
He needs a full rework. There is pretty much no question about it. Riot themselves admitted that his current playstyle does not fit his lore or theme. This was also the case with Sion, which had an incredibly messy and incoherent kit, so they completely revamped him from the ground up instead of just making minor changes to his abilities. Why is Morde any less deserving of the same treatment, especially considering how much he sucks in the game as it is?
what he needs from a rework:
they seem to have updated his texture, so he doesn't look too bad anymore, but I wouldn't mind a model update all the same, since he looks kinda cartoony. Would love to see a Karthus style revamp to make him look super sicknasty.
some form of soft cc or engagement. pretty much every champion in the game has some at this point, AD CARRIES have more utility than Morde and that's not right. being kitable is one thing, but even the other super kitable champs like nasus, singed and darius have some tools in order to minimize this.
some form of utility to his team, whether it be from the aforementioned cc, buffs, vision, etc.
that's pretty much it really, barring that i would trust riot's judgment provided they actually give him a full rework instead of the underwhelming changes they are proposing.
Honestly, I like what Riot is doing with him. He'll still have comparable damage, and in addition he'll be tanky. On top of that, he's going to have a new MS boost that he can use when an ally is near (or even a minion, assuming he can still cast it on minions)
I'm actually super excited to try him out when he hits live.
