idk, I can think of any ablities that have to do with vengeance that makes sense either after all, carrying out of act of vengenace isnt limited to any particular action

Although the whole "spirit of vengeance" is mostly tied to her lore. She's supposed to be this spirit that other people summon to help them enact vengeance. So when she enters the rift, she SoulBinds to someone to help that someone get revenge.
Remember that cinematic where Kalista impales some guy? That happened cause some other guy called her and then bonded his soul to Kalista.

Well actually I do feel the part with the free wards and long range harass does fit the spirit part of undead spirit.
