Harsher punishment for trolls/feeders and AFKS in ranked

Riot really has not done anything about the trolls. I get them literally almost every other game whether solo or duo. 4v5 is just getting ridiculous and i'm really tired of it. These trolls just keep getting caught by CC while trying to harass the enemy for 1 lousy skillshot, feed and then rage quit when their surrender vote fails.

Forget increasing punishments 'in ranked'. Just increase them across the board.

I'm on a fourteen day ban from League because of ONE game where everyone was intentionally taking kills. coming to my lane JUST to take my CS, and on top of that, some Gnar insta-locked and said he would carry, then ended up feeding while I had to go to my worst lane, but still tried as hard as I could. Eventually I snapped and called an Ashe player on my team who had recently swooped in and stole a kill I already had an "inconsiderate bitch", and she spent the rest of the game flaming me and me mostly defending myself. I've seen Heroes Of The Storm and how it plays recently, and I'm seriously considering to switch to that now. And here you are, thinking people like me need harsher punishments. That would be a good way to have everyone stop playing League.

That type of close mindedness makes you part of the problem.

Do they even have princes in Nigeria? Also, I never said that I don't believe that you don't believe me.

That's exactly the kind of close-mindedness that's dragging this community down.

Check your sense of entitlement bruh. Wookiecookie & Lyte have heard sob stories like this and put players on blast for omitting the true nature of their toxicity. It wasn't just ONE game, I'd bet it was a string of games and you just want people to feel sorry for you.

Truth be told, I fabricated a little bit. I lashed out and was pretty aggressive, and she may have not intended to take my kill, (the CS she did later intentionally, I'm almost sure of) but after I turned my behavior around for the most part at the end of the game and she remained toxic and uncooperative. I think the real reason I could have been banned that long was because I was joking, and, when what I said in the game is taken out and presented by itself, it DOES look worse than it actually is. Also, no. The point of me saying all this was to further express my opinion that they should NOT have harsher punishments across the board. And, by what they showed me in the email, and by what I remember, that was the only game I have had in a while that I was toxic in. It's good that you don't believe everything that you see and hear, but you have to be careful not to seem like a douche when you say it, because that itself can get you reported.

I'm telling you, fourteen days for ONE bad game is ridiculous. I can't take that with dignity. It could have been two games, or possibly even three, but I don't recall them, and even then, I should have been banned for one week.

Mathbalnase1 votes

Do you really need me to pull up a series of quotes from Rioters stating explicitly that you DO NOT get banned for 'one bad game' unless you are extraordinarily terrible?

What kind of bullshit were you spewing? Hate Speech? Explicit and credible threats of violence?

chipndip12 votes

Then don't be a jerk when you're "joking". League is infamous for people being assholes all day. Why ADD to that? Why play the victim card when you're blown up for that? You messed up. Take the L.

This system is pretty BS if you think about it you spend 60 minutes to win a game and all it takes is some troll next game 20 min and 1.5 hours later you are back to where you started.

Oh my god. You got mad because your kill was "stolen"? At least you got gold for it. Jesus. You get banned a lot. I've seen you. You raged at Riot for you getting banned during URF. That was your fault. Don't give me this bullshit like, "it was only one game", because, I've seen you post. I've seen you complain about how "bad" Riot punishments are, and how you're just a poor, innocent victim of the "bad" and "terrible" Riot punishments."My two best lanes were taken". Yeah, so? I've had my best lanes taken. I still play other roles competently to win games. And you don't need kills. Kills don't win you the game. They help you out, but they sure as hell don't win you the game. This isn't Call of Duty. This is a team game based around objectives, map control, pressure, and momentum. "I'm sure they KSed intentionally". Please. Don't. Say. That. They are a carry. They do damage. Sometimes it's an accident. "I have pretty thick skin". Then how have you been banned so often? Please, go to Heroes of the Storm. Or play Strife. They have anti-toxicity programs in set. That should help you out.

This is what one of my wins looks like after a streak of losses. Look at the deaths and KDR on my team and gold advantage. I get an EASY game 1/10 times.

That's why I don't play ranked. More trolls than there are in normals and ARAM.

Dude I feel you. I got 22 lp from winning a 70 minute game. Next game we have an afk and ends in 20 minutes and I lose 20 lp. Its messed up.

Calling someone a name like that out of the blue does put you at risk for being punished, and it's not news that it does. All MOBAs would punish you for that kind of unprovoked language. Don't pick another MOBA because you think you'll get away with that.

If she started the flame war with you, then I'd be more sympathetic. We all have to deal with people like that. However I doubt you were just banned for that one line. Usually they start to warn you if your behavior starts to get toxic because they recognize people have bad days.

That's the thing. It WASN'T unprovoked. It was VERY provoked, and yes, what I did definately wasn't right, but banning me for 14 days while the other person gets away unscathed is definately unfair.

Did she start harassing you in the chat first? If not, then there's not really a justification for you to snap like that. Taking kills does not excuse that behavior, and it solves nothing to act like that. You're going to need thicker skin if you're going to play a MOBA because KSing is everywhere in these types of games, no matter which you choose.

Unfortunately you opened yourself to a report when you started the flame war. People who might have been sympathetic towards you lose all of it when you act like that. Even calling people names like douchebag is really uncalled for, which makes me believe that there was more than one instance where you crossed that thin line. No MOBA is going to let you get away with that kind of behavior, and if it's common, you can expect an extended ban in almost every game you play.

I agree with the OP in that there needs to be a harsher punishment in ranked for people who troll because they get off too lightly, and they end up effecting so many more ranked games. The type of situations you're talking about is much easier to deal with because you can mute and report, but at a lot of times it sparks a silly flame war that effects the entire team. It's just best to stay out of all of that, and you certainly don't want to be the one who throws the first stone.

My two best lanes were taken. That disturbed me. My opponent was EXTREMELY aggrovating to play against, my jungler, which was my second best lane, was terrible and did nearly nothing to help me. I could forgive him for that. But when I REALLY needed to kill him the most, and it could have turned a boring and frustrating game into an enjoyable game, Ashe took the kill, and after that everything went completely down hill. That pushed me over the edge enough to swear at her. And by the end of the game, she was far more toxic than I had ever been. Believe me, I have pretty thick skin, but everyone snaps once in a while, and while I HAVE finally been improving on it, I still get in trouble. The ban has done far more to hinder me than it has done to help me.

No where does it say that you get which role you want when you play this game though. Getting that upset over a KS does not mean you have thick skin. You're acting like these are proper excuses for your behavior, and they're not because they all happen to us. You are not the only person this happens to, and it happens very frequently. You are not entitled to act that way. If you go too far, and you start it, then you need to take responsibility for that or you will keep getting banned.

I know for a fact they warn you if your behavior is becoming toxic because I have gotten a message once about it. Granted it was from a 4 party team who were trying to bully me into being their slave, but I know they give you warnings now. If you are starting to become toxic, they stop you and tell you that you need to turn your behavior around. As someone previously mentioned, you likely had a string of these incidents or you said something so vile in that one that moment to get you your ban. Either way it's not something that's okay, and it's not something you can escape in any game.

Well it doesn't happen to me frequently, it's a terrible scenario for me and I'm not used to it. Plus, I think Riot is biased towards me as well, because they banned me a matter of hours before URF 2015 was released, and banned me right before the pool party rewards thing came out. I'm not trying to justify my actions and say that I didn't deserve any sort of punishment whatsoever, but I AM saying the way they handled it wasn't right. I don't recall getting that "someone has reported you" message within the past week and a half or so. Also, I most likely CAN escape it in other games, because I've found out that teams share experience in Heroes Of The Storm, and the community for League Of Legends is infamous for being nasty.

When I talk punishment I'm not talking about "flaming". Because that is what the mute button is for. I'm talking about punishing blatant trolls and disconnectors who turn a game into 4v5 and feed an enemy team 0-7 by the 12 minute mark.

Ah. Well that's different. Thank you for not replying to me like a douchebag. Some people just can't connect, I've had that happen several times, but it's pretty rare. There SHOULD be some sort of system where it detects if you try to reconnect, but for those people who just say they're going afk and leave for the rest of the game, I agree they should be punished. I think it would be appropriate if they had to play a large amount, such as 50 or 60 normal games before they can do ranked again, and if they still have that behavior in normals, they should just outright be banned for a week or so. Although I'm not sure Riot would be able to implement that.

that's not the people riot bans. riot bans the people that get stuck with those people then complain about it. i quit this fucking game a long time ago because i am one of the worst examples of a good player who got dragged down in so many games that I end up getting punished for. meanwhile the trolls continue to act with impunity. doesn't take a rocket surgeon to figure out somebody isn't doing their job correctly.

Like, can we have people make more threads of this nature? Really make it known that:

  1. We need more preemptive ways to deal with trolls. If someone's acting spotty in champ select, they need to be replaced by a better team mate.

  2. If someone's being an ass in game, harsher punishment should be dished out relatively quickly for it. The only way LoL is gonna get over its horrible community is if Riot starts to really show it's not appreciated here.

Why do these threads keep on poping up??

What you people are asking for here is extreme. Stop it with this shit it isnt gonna help anyone expect make matters worse. These measures are extreme.
