Classification of the bad player in ranked, I have seen in gold and lower

CKwoka26947··10 votes·1,399 views
  1. The laner that just feeds a level 1/2 first blood and proeeds to repeat the process every 2 minutes
  2. The afk farm jungler particularly the Nunu's
  3. The rambo tanky top particulary darius/olaf's that will keep split pushing top lane deep and get killed 1v3, proceed to repeat again/again
  4. The team that keeps trying to init fights in enemy jungle (usually without their carries) even though their lanes are pushed and behind
  5. The support that runs through a giant minion wave to harass and proceeds to get 1v2ed
  6. The mid lane Varus, top lane Vayne
  7. The AFK farming ADC that is always on the other side of the map
  8. The team that is farming jungle instead of taking objectives, particularly when I am pressuring the top or bot lane
  9. The jungler that doesn't look at health bars or see the giant minion wave in front of their allied laners and proceeds to get 1v2ed

I will add more as I remember them, but these are the usual types of bad players I see almost every game.

I was ABOUT to thumb this up, then you went and did this: "6) The mid lane Varus, top lane Vayne"

Nope, that basically makes every other point invalid.

I guess he could clarify with "The mid lane Varus, top lane Vayne that doesn't actually know what they're doing."

I slightly disagree with #3. One of the reasons you split push is to bring attention to yourself. If the enemy team sends 2-3 people at you, the rest of your team should easily be able to push down a turret or get drag. Most teams in lower elo fail to do this because they instead try to help the top laner when the 2-3 people come for him. They most likely get there late and the top laner still dies while nothing is obtained on the other side of the map. So it isn't particularly the top lane's fault in this case, but his team's fault for not doing what they should have been doing. At the same time, if the top laner Isn't warding to at least increase his chances of surviving, he/she is doing more harm than good.

This. This pretty much describes my playstyle. I try to get my team advantages by soaking ultimates or applying pressure. Thing is, no one in bronze knows what "capitalizing" is and then proceeds to waste those ultimate cooldowns or try to help as you said =/. Makes me sad. I end up turning my split-pusher into a pick-killer to just try and drag a win out. Reason not to do ranked often right there.

That moment when you used to play Mid Lane Varus before he went popular thanks to LCS ._. ... Now I'm playing Mid Ezreal... no one will be thinking of commonly using that right?

That ez build is really cool tho. And it gives him aoe. I tried it and it works really nice

Kolinichu1 votes

Indeed. I'm more of a AD Ezreal, but AP is seriously fun.

It's popular in LCS? That explains my confusion as there was a varus in every game for 3 games straight.

Edit: why are people building tear on AP ez? The thing delays your power spike and doesn't do you much good because you don't really need all that mana late-game. Runeglaive is awesome on him, the only problem I have with it as someone who loved playing AP ez occasionally before is that I don't have ignite and lose early kill pressure. Oh and the reddit thread says he had no synergy with luden's before. That's a really poor understanding... that thing made him semi viable because you could rush it, get the mid-game spike that he never had with other builds because his W + luden chunked a squishy for at least a third of their health. And another misconception is that tear + lichbane meant a power spike and made him strong. That is the worst possible thing you could do. Early sheen is ok depending on lane opponent, but lich bane should be finished as a 3rd or even 4th item because it needs AP to be worth it and other straight AP items considerably empower your W E R. Every time I get a game with AP ez doing tear + lich rush is a loss because his power spike is 20min further away than it would be with a proper build.

I never build Tear on EZ, not even when I play him AD. Always thought it was ransacking your early/mid game by a lot.

I'm mostly in agreement with everything else you said.

I was commenting on that reddit post. Assumed you share its opinion and since I don't use reddit I decided to post a comment about that horrid build :)

Yeah... not a big fan of reddit myself... I go check the posts from time to time. I don't even own a reddit account.

Did you add the player who never buys a single ward or even upgrades the trinket? I mean that's one of the worse things you can do if you actually want to win a game.

number 3) isnt actually that bad.

pushing deep into the lane causes pressure the opposing team has to react to. this means you take attention away from the enemy jungler and possibly mid laner, freing your own team up for ganks and to take turrets.

the thing that most people are forgetting when doing this, is warding properly.

ward deep into the enemy jungle, so you see your opponents coming early. draw back when theyre coming, but dont recall. go only as far back as necessary. when theyre breaking off the gank, go back in and resume pushing.

mid lane varus and top lane vayne are not only legit counterpicks to certain champs, but actually threatening.

Some more (platinum and lower, I guess):

  • The solo laner who pushes non-stop, never buys a ward, and flames his jungler every time he dies.
  • The team that thinks they need to take baron when they are ahead instead of just winning without it.
  • The jungler who doesn't realise that zoning an enemy is enough, and has to towerdive (and die doing so.)
  • The mobile initiator who uses their mobility to initiate too far away for their team to follow up on in time.
  • The defender (peel champion) who always tries to go for the enemy carries instead of defending their own.
  • The assassin who dives in 1v5 to initiate fights and dies instantly.
  • The midlaner who neither pushes to the tower nor follows when their enemy constantly roams.

{quoted} 2) The afk farm jungler particularly the Nunu's

I'm okay with this, so long as they can secure all Jungle objectives, ward consistently, and counter jungle so hard that the enemy jungler becomes irrelevant. That's way more useful to the team than a ganking Nunu, since he only has a slow and a buff to help win the gank.

New player here. Been at it for less than a month. Here’re the “bad player” things I see in my normal, low elo matches. No idea what ranks they fall into.

  1. The ADC who insists on pushing past a large minion wave to attack a healthy champion early in the game, and then blames the support for not backing him up when he gets zoned at best, slaughtered at worst.
  2. The champion who leaves the support to clear a minion wave that’s rapidly pressuring the base. Or leaves the support to secure any important objective that involves doing damage, really.
  3. The jungler who’s so dead set on ganking one particular enemy that he lingers in your lane despite no immediate opportunity presenting itself.
  4. The guy who seems to think it’s only the support’s job to ward the map, and then whines when the support places “only” four wards.
  5. The guy who flames the support for landing a kill one moment, and then flames them for not securing a kill the next.
  6. The guy who buys the same items every single match, because he read about them in a guide somewhere.
  7. The guy who tries to 1v1 a fed enemy and dies. Over and over.
  8. The guy who tries to 1v1 a champion that flat out counters him and dies. Over and over.
  9. The guy who insists on defending a tower when vastly outnumbered and outclassed, instead of falling back to regroup or pushing elsewhere.
  10. The guy who flames his team mates for making mistakes, rather than offer them constructive advice.
