Why is Ranked so different from Normals?
Ok, so I'll start off with the fact that I am currently Bronze IV.
Because of that I don't really like to play ranked, I'd rather play normals. I was playing ranked last night however and I noticed something that I haven't really picked up on since I started playing ranked games last year. When I play a normals game, it usually has the off meta builds and the unpopular champions and all the stuff ranked frowns upon. But the games are way more fun. I don't tend to get pub stomped in lane with no chance for a come back. But that's not even what bothers me.
Why is it I only see "bad internet", AFK's, Leavers, Feeders, and overall people who don't belong in their role playing ranked? If I played 5 normals games, I wont see any "sorry guys, my internet keeps cutting out" dc's, I wont have anyone afk at fountain the whole game, I wont have someone get mad and start feeding. This ONLY occurs for me in ranked.
Then the player lvl. Last year I played a few doubles with my plat 3 friend and got paired against plenty of golds and a few plats. They weren't better than me. They weren't farming better or making better pokes or builds. But they played champs they knew would work together in lane (Not amumu support with Wukong adc into Kalista). I didn't see junglers with NO presence in the game (Evelyn into Volibear. He camped my lane all game while she tried to farm to catch up). They grouped to take objectives and teamfight. Just like almost all of my normals games work.
It might just be me but it seems Ranked games bring out the most unskilled players in this game and then put them under pressure to perform better than they're capable. I can play 3 normals games with the knowledge that I did pretty good and maybe learned something. I can play 3 ranked games and wonder why my team didn't ban that champ that just snowballed out of control for a 18 minute win. Or if my adc has ever heard of last hitting, or if the jungler knows that Jungle Karthus doesn't really work. Or why my team wants to chase a fed Garen around the map trying to kill him while we lose turrets and objectives.
