ITT we list things that baffle us about League of Legends

  1. Riot games employs an entire "lore department", presumably allowing multiple people to collect a bi-weekly paycheck for the "lore" of the game.

  2. Kallistas and Miss Fortune's Passives exist in the same video game.

  3. Riot Games has proven two seasons in a row that it is willing to demolish an entire role to avoid balancing their favorite champions, and there exist players who believe there's some sort of unbiased "balance team" that will take care of it.

  4. after four full years, League does not contain replay features, camera position options, voice chat, or full tutorials, features generally listed as "coming soon after Alpha!!" In other games.

  5. Xerath, Gragas, and Sona were reworked for their unhealthy poke. Teemo was not. Sion was reworked for being a bland ball of stats with no character. Irelia was not.

After Heartseeker Varus that one no longer baffles me

And Braum. And Taric (especially post-VU, we hope). And Pool Party Graves.

1: I can't comment on this part, since I don't know what their writing department does. It's likely that the people who write the lore also write all the patch notes, announcements, promotional material, and dialogue, so it's not like they spend months collecting empty paychecks.

2: What does this have to do with anything?

3: This is largely an axe-grinding bullet point. Lee Sin has been struck with many nerfs in the past year to cut down on the amount of insane mobility that he has, along with his damage output and durability. Zed got hit with a slight nerf on his attack speed, and everyone cried foul. It takes a lot of testing to make sure even a slight nerf won't completely destroy the character; it's a huge hit and miss science.

4: Why is this a bad thing? I would prefer to use an external program so I don't have to automute people who abuse the mic (and trust me, in this acidic environment, they will.).

5: Gragas had issues aside from his lethal poke. He was supposed to be an AP brawler, not a burst mage, which is how he turned out before his rework. Sona was reworked so she was more active in the game instead of getting away with just supplying an array of passive buffs. Arguably, the rework made her even stronger. Teemo's primary issue is the overwhelming influence his shrooms can have around the map. Replacing a skill entirely should be a last resort. The question is how you balance out the shrooms so they are still dangerous, but he can't dominate the entire map, and they won't be negated entirely by making them visible or something.

Nah Pwyff does the patch notes (he's in PR or something?) and most of the announcements are meddler, or Tryndamere, or Ironstylus, or some guy from skins.

Like I said it's super baffling.

The 4.13 nerfs dropped her from a greater than 60% win-rate in pro-play, to an unshakable 0% win-rate.

Irelia was not.

I'll have you know, Frostblade Irelia has plenty of character, I mean have you seen that frostbutt?

It's only rivaled by DJ Sona's in-game model.
