Why TF does singed glue stop sion ult?

I had this happen to me so many times, and it just makes me cry. Sion doesn't dash during his ult and he shouldn't be prevented from using it while in singed glue.

All kinds of mobility are negated by grounding. Including speedups, which his ult counts as. The only things that are not counted are things like Ahri's Q, where the speedup is secondary. And, even then, I believe it stops the speed buff.

Except move speed boosts aren't negated when grounded. Things like garen q, poppy w, Mundo ult, why is it that sion ult which is effectively a move speed boost that limits turn rate is disabled?

Because of why I said. Those abilities have secondary MS boost components. Sion's R is a primary MS boost ability. 97/100 times, you don't use Poppy's W for the speed boost, you use it for the anti-dash zone.

The question is: should grounded stop unstoppable effects like Sion R, Vi R, Malphite R?

Grounded, meaning you can't even flash out of it.

I get why I can't flash, I don't get why I can't ult.

its a movement ability.

grounded : A unit that is grounded is unable to activate mobility spells.

although stop your already active ult seems wrong. If I want to flash into a grounded spell I have my rights to do so.

It has some really weird and frustrating interactions. Like Evelynn can't use her empowered E in the grounded area, even though it's barely a gap closer (you can't even use it on someone right next to you). It effectively removes 70% of her up-front damage.
