Riot doesn't care about the majority of its player base

Recent changes like the new HUD(which is incredibly disorientating and unneeded)to generally not listening to community feed back, has led me to believe that Riot has taken a very anti-consumer stance of all and any feedback. What I mean is that if a change would benefit a majority of the consumers(us players)it isn't considered as viable in any sense.

I would LOVE Riot to prove me wrong, but consistently they leave promises broken and defunct for so long that its the only reality available.

-Has Cass been reworked how a majority of players want her to be?Nope

-Has Quinn been fixed after two years of constant bugs?Doesnt seem so

-Are there replays?lol'd

-Have they normalized ping for 50%+ of players?>biggest lol ever(considering NA,maybe other servers too)

-Have they balanced champions even according to their high tier play?Surprisingly abominations like Vayne retain high win rates and play rates and do not get nerfed because of the "need" for these champions

All in all,I feel Riot has(obviously)changed from being a very FOR the player company,to a company that alienates a majority of the people playing their game.

I can agree with a lot of what you are saying. Riot just makes balances for LCS. They care more about their reputation and the people that WATCH the game instead of the people that PLAY the game.

Well, they are trying to make esports mainstrem

redfeenix1 votes

Trying? They've pretty much created the modern esports industry. Now every video game has some form of tournament - and thats awesome. Good on Riot for investing in the industry and being a pioneer

they do need to do a majority of these things, but complaining without offering a logical solution isn't helping an issue either

Logical solutions for a lot of these are entirely obvious

1.Cass could be "actually" made into a poison mage, like Stashu said he would do

2.This is an obvious one,Quinn just needs bug fixes.

3.Replays,although they will never be added is just an example of a promise Riot led players to believe in,and then never fulfilled

4.Riot has promised fixes for connection and ping issues, and this is the biggest egg on the list,as they have promised for on NUMEROUS occasions they would do so,this is another obvious fix as maybe two servers are required for such a large country like the US

5.Balance,oh balance.

You want to know how to fix balance?

You actually talk to players, like you know

You "actually" sit down and Q and A live chat, and ask for coherent changes with champions and see what would work and what wouldnt

But most of these changes actually involve Riot working with for their player base, and that isnt profitable for E$ports

There's nothing wrong with cassi. She's just extremely difficult as she should be. she does a ton of damage and has insane kiting with the right items.

And about vayne, every time i think they should do something about vayne, i always just think about how many retarded tanks are in this game and im like....nope vayne's fine. buy a pink ward and stop trying to 1v1 the best duelist in the game. she has short range and she dies very easily to AOE comps.

Everything else I agree with. There's no excuse for a multi-billion dollar, Fortune 100 company to have players in the same country playing at anything above 50 ping.(Everyone that played Dawngate was at 20 or less if waystone can do it you can too RIot NO EXCUSES) And why the hell do i have to use a 3rd Party program to see my replays? Come on it's been what 5 years?

I don't need to make a list of the GOOD things Riot has done, these are already well known,no,this isn't how we fix super evident problems that WILL lead to Riot turning into the new Jagex.

Some other online games have suffered with great gameplay mechanics because the developers have such a piss-poor consumer relation experience. A good game isn't everything.

  1. Cass has seen a great amount of competitive play meaning she is not needing a rework because she isn't a dead champ.
  2. Bugs are not easy to fix and with a game that probably had a couple thousand bugs some have higher priority then the others.
  3. They don't have, it's not like a free software is to hard to setup lazy.
  4. They are in the process of creating their own network. This questions shows you have no clue what your talking about. They know isp are crappy so want to supply their network to people.
  5. Win rates don't mean crap. Playing vayne in low silver to bronze is free elo because those players don't counter well. In higher tiers people know how to shut her down. She is a mechanical champ a great vayne player can win matches like a hyper carry adc should.

Riot honestly is one of the best companies when it comes to their community. Constantly patches, quick fixes when things go wrong, getting rid of toxic player.

Ever heard of the saying, too many cooks spoil the broth? Thats how it is with the commjnity and the games balance

Varrakllek1 votes

Riot don't care about the majority they only care about pros they balance around pros they make their game around pros because pros make them the most money and since riot are dick-less egotistical douche-bags they will never care.

redfeenix1 votes

I disagree with this sentiment. I think Rioters care about the players. I think they call themselves the most player focused company in the world?

-They have a history of broken promises BECAUSE they make promises. Would you prefer they not communicate at all? They wont break any promises if they make none

-Cassio is in a fun spot, I prefered her old E reset mechanic, but her new w is cool (q e r are all pretty much the same, plus her passive is a meme)

-Quin is bugged? That is something that I'm sure Riot cares about, please report it in 'report a bug' section of the forums

-I love how I play on 34 ping now, thank you Riot! I fkn hated 100 ping

-If you feel alienated why dont you bring that up with GhostCrawler. I'm sure he would care about what he could do to improve your player experience
