The camera flip is coming soon. They don't have an ETA for it yet though.

2009 tho xD
Aw you got my hopes up :(
Ahahaha a post from pre-Season 1.
It would be funny If that person who posted it wouldn't even be working in Riot anymore by now.
Ever tried unlocked camera?
It's not a matter of unlocking camera or not. The fact is that the bottom of the screen shows less area then the top period. That's without even factoring the UI taking up even more space at the bottom. When you're red side, the enemy it's far more likely to be located toward the bottom of your screen where you see much less area
What do you mean "it's not a matter of unlocking camera"?? It literally IS just that, you can place the camera in a way that you will see exactly same amount of things (including your character or not) on both sides. Playing on top side of the map is only onnoying when you start playing and it's new, but it's really easy to get used to and if you don't play with locked screen, then there's no difference in view range.
Yes, there is a UI on the bottom, but it's also there when you play on the bot side of the map, if you position your camera correctly, it's not an issue for either of the sides. The amount of terrain you can see is the same in both cases.
Do you not know how the camera works? Since you are viewing at an angle as opposed to directly above the field, your field of view is actually a trapezoid that is much narrower at the bottom and broader at the top. No matter where your camera is, you ALWAYS see more at the top than you do at the bottom
Do you know how to move a camera slightly downwards, which coimpletely fixes the issue? Waow, rocket science! Seriously, if you have problems with cammera positioning and you're not new to the game, there's not much left to say other then l2p. Not mechanically champion-wise, but still.
What part of this are you not getting exactly? It doesnt matter WHERE your camera is. It ALWAYS shows less area at the bottom than the top. Even when you position your camera correct, you still see less. What part of this is hard?

lmao, it does matter
LOL thanks for finally agreeing :)

Kek.
Let me break this down so clearly that you can't possibly not understand. No matter where you place your camera, you are ALWAYS viewing less area at the bottom of your screen. The rectangle on your minimap is a lie. What you are actually viewing in a trapezoid that is wide at the top and narrow at the bottom.
Here is a picture of what your ACTUAL field of view looks like AT ALL TIMES
It is always showing less at the bottom of your screen without even factoring in the UI getting in the way. The UI just compounds the problem.
If the camera was a bird's eye view, you'd be right. But since it's on a angle you'll see more on one side, hence blue can see better than red side. The mountain walls by the tower block part of the view when you're on red side making it harder to dodge skillshots, whereas the mountain walls on blue side are angled away from the tower so you can see more.
Imagine a map that you're looking from the top with a bird's eye view (but you can't see the whole map). If you tilt the map on an angel you'll start to see more on one side. This isn't difficult, and you look shameful to be talking to people in a condescending tone when you're wrong.
Ever tried unlocked camera?
To this day there is still a difference in winrate when you get blue side or red side. Blue side has an advantage despite unlocked camera.
The advantage was never due to the screen positioning, lmao.

Suuuuure it wasn't.

You play on EUNE, you have no right to tell some1 to l2p lol.

Watching The EU's insult eachother is like watching a midget belittle a dwarf for being short. We're all trash except for KR.
While Surejoyce is being a bit toxic, he is right. The camera was never part if it. The difference in Winrate comes from map lay out examples: blue side has an easier time getting Dragon because it faces them; similarly, red side has an easier way of getting rift/baron since they face red. Not only the objectives but jungle routes change. If you are on red side you have an advantage top because the jungler can pincer the top laner from the middle of the lane. Blue side can't do that because it's secondary opening is behind the tower.
So you might be asking "well if red has the advantage on top side, then why is blue the higher Winrate one?" This is because botlane has more presence in the game than toplane and like red side having an advance toplane blue side has the advance botside because of the 3 different entrances the jungler can come from (4 if you count cheesy bush strat) compared to red's 2/3. Plus blue side and secure dragons easier and since it's in the early game that territory is more important. Baron in the late game is easier to contest on both sides just because its been long enough in the game that the territory lines have moved. Red does get Herald more often though so there's that.
Overall: what Surejoyce says about the camera is true. And it definitely isnt why blue side is favoured. It's all in map layout.
To say that map orientation has a bearing on winrate, therefore camera angle has no bearing on said statistic is fallacious to say the least. You yourself admit that there are advantages to toplane as well for red side. True botlane is currently the most important, but do you really think it has been that way since beta? Because I can assure you the winrate has always been in blue side's favor, why would that be when season 2 and season 3 at the very least were ruled by bruisers— toplane?
Yes actually I do. Because no matter how you slice it botlane has 2 of your allies in it. It will always be inherently more important. Also Dragon used to only be at botlane so no matter how you slice it, botlane is always a more tactically important side. Also, I never said that since map orientation affected the Winrate camera doesn't, I flat out said that the camera problem doesn't exist at all. You see the same gank spots from redside as blue. I added my map orientation explanation to reason the Winrate difference. The camera changes nothing about game play.
Oh yes, minimap and skills being at the bottom of the screen definitely isn't a hindrance to your vision from red side. rolls eyes

You can move camera freely, so no, it's not, stop being ignorant.

You consistently need to adjust that and make sure it's fine if you're red side, but being blue side you don't need to at all. Now technically unlocked camera could make up for this but it doesn't change the fact that red side consistently needs to make sure it doesn't get in the way, perhaps needing for it to become habitual.
I personally alternate between locked camera, unlocked camera, and in teamfights where I'm not AP kog/xerath locked camera with Y hotkey toggled (hides minimap and skills and shit).

You need to adjust that regardless of the side you're playing on, so your claim makes no sense. And LOL you're seriously talking about playing with locket camera, how are you even supposed to be taken serious here? ;D And no, it's not exclusive to the red side, you have same area of view regardless of being on blue or red side, just position your camera properly, wtf. You're simply wrong with your claim as much as OP and many other people in this thread.
Playing on locked camera is terrible. Also another question, where are you taking your data regarding win rates on blue/red side from? Same question to OP. And 43654 people that keep making this stupid claim that the camera view is a reason for anything here, lmao.
Dyrus and quite a few other pro players also switch between locked camera and unlocked camera. Guess we can't take them seriously either.

Here's a good site for map winrates. There's multiple others but this one came up quickly and offers a patch by patch winrate.

Yeah, maybe when they're running to the lane, lmao.

Small data sample and correlation doesn't imply causation. There were multiple reasons why one side was more desirable than the other one, but the camera fov wasn't, isn't and most probably won't be one of them.
I find it funny people still struggle with this.
I find it funny people still struggle with this.
There's still a winrate disparity between the two sides caused entirely by this.
Ya, if people would stop struggling with this, it would be more even lol..

This is in higher elos as well...
Why not just remove the problem instead of making people cope with it?
You have no idea how primitive the world becomes when you stop solving problems to "let people deal with it."

I sometimes wish it was like this every once in a while temporarily.
God knows it solve so many traffic issues.

Yep. And more. If you leave USA/Canada and try to get anything done in a country that isn't germany they're going to make you do lots of legwork, asking around, and overall hating your life.
