Everyone on gameplay should watch this video.
Because the amount of times we see sweeping generalizations on anything that happens to League/Riot is...like insane.

But...but...but, I _know _ I'm right! This game is dying because it doesn't match my exact envisioning of where the balance should be!
This is so ridiculous. When draktarr was about to come out the bronze and silver players lost their shits. A high Elo zed main told that he won't build it and that its a situational item and he got downvoted to hell.
and then there is me, who gets laughed at for calling stuff like tank akali, jungle gragas etc. broken and strong before they get fotm/meta. :)
Unfortunately, wrong predictions outnumber correct predictions by like...30-to-1.
Tank Akali isn't too strong right now. It's still a sub-par pick. Just because it's the best way to play Akali it doesn't make it good.
Er, obviously, Duskblade didn't work out because AD assassin are OP anyway. Teh comunity are nvr worng.
he said "sample of the mage items"
are those just a sample? i thought they were all the planned items. confirmation ?
They were only a pass to some of the items. We didn't see any changes for other AP items like Ludens or Rabbadons. So I mean he could be wrong but I'd guess that there's gotta be more than that.
Even if there aren't more items? Still gotta look at what they're doing to AP Champions.

I'm not sure they will do much to Ludens and Rabbadons, there really isn't much to do to those items, they are pretty straight forward items, specially
Deathcap has a major problem. It's one of the most overpriced items in the game, which seems to be quite a persistent problem with AP items.
In terms of Deathcap as a multiplier it's a lot worse than its AD counterpart Infinity Edge. It multiplies your damage by a whole lot less. Yet it costs 200 gold more to complete. Realistically it should probably be priced at 3.3 or 3.4K. Deathcap is not a strong enough item to justify being the most expensive item in the game.

gives you 25% extra damage on crits
35% AP on every spell.
but in any case, what i was saying is it doens't need a redesign, not saying anything about it cost or power.
A 35% increase in ability power=/=a 35% increase in damage. IE actually gives a 50% bonus on crits, as well as better stats on the item itself. This effect is far greater than a 35% boost which only effects your ratios.

i never said that.

IE gives 25% total damage on crits (250% instead of 200% (total increase of 25%)), but it's confusing as it's wording is weird, the previous wording was way clearer.
But again, im not talking about power (which could change), im saying it doesn't need a redesign.
First is that there is still changes going on (go check the post again, he posted an update)
Second is that those were only the mana/regen items and their related items
so true
Remember how everyone said that duskblade would be op and everyone would build it? Now look at it, its only good on 3 or 4 champions.
You know, i agree people don't look at the game as a system enough, and while i don't think the mage item rework is going to kill mages, i don't think that it's giving the same "identity" to the mage archetype like that of the marksmen update.
Mana doesn't feel like it should be the center of the class design for mages, because it's a method of limiting power, rather than emphasizing or multiplying it, like what crit does for marksmen.
Though really what i'm so pissed about with the whole mage rework is the complete removal of spell vamp, and the kind of undertone that riot wants mages to be forced to recall more often than other archetypes. They already lack of health sustain forces mages back from just a small amount of landed poke, yet they always want to cut down on how long their mana last too. Then riot adds in an item like
which is 15% spell vamp and 15% lifesteal (because spell vamp still works on physical damage abilities). CDR is already been a stat which is handed out to everyone, and now spell vamp is taken from mages and given to everyone but them.
The whole "trade off" stuff that riot keeps preaching about sounds like it's represented differently in mages than in other classes of champions, where other classes have to pick how they become more powerful, mages have to pick how much they want to be handicapped.
