Why was Malzahar passive changed to block Fizz ult?

Fizz ult is supposed to be a debuff along with a slow, which is why QSS doesnt remove the fish anymore since 6.9, it only removes the slow.

The same thing should happen with Malzahar passive, he doesnt get slowed but the fish still stays on him because its a debuff like Shyvana E for example. Im pretty sure that thing doesnt get blocked.

And I mean.. its not like Malz needed a buff and Fizz a nerf, is it?

Why are you comparing Malzahar's passive to QSS? It is a pretty much a spellshield that should be compared with Banshee's instead.

Malzahar is designed to counter assassins like fizz

Assassins need some counterplay right? FIzz ult not being blocked by his passive was a bug anyways, and riot already stated before that they intended to fix it.

Because riot doesn't know what they're doing with the champion and they're just making him a generic overloaded champion like they're doing with the rest of their game.

They would've been better off never reworking the champion, and accept that there exists a champion who can punish mobility, but is weak to range and delayed CC.

It isn't just Malzahar. Fizz's R won't connect to cc immune target (Morgana, Olaf). They ninja changed it and now trying to sell it as a bugfix, what's mean the bug existed since Fizz's release. just bullshit.

Malz can block fizz ulti with his passive because his passive lingers for 0.25 sec ( or somewhere along these numbers) after being damaged by any source of dmg, meaning he blocks the application of the slow and of attaching at malzahar.
