An idea to upgrade Lissandra's passive: When Iceborn triggers, make it give her a shield

Iceborn has basically no functionality in mid-to-late game team-fights when Lissandra should have a Rod of Ages completed, thus negating her mana issues. It needs to be given something to upgrade it to make it useful.

My thought is that when you cast a "mana-free" spell, Lissandra should also get a short-lived shield that absorbs damage. This would help her a lot, as she's kinda below-par in durability for a close-range mage. Champions like Ryze and Annie always seem to out-tank her...

Not really. What's the first skill you use to engage a target with? E. What's the first skill you hit a target with even when you don't E? R. Both will make such a shield useless anyway.

Lissandra need to be shield in some way in her kit, because she isnt a burst mage. Probably she need a shield who scale with bonus health and by level or maximum health every time he procs his passive. This buff will make lyandry and athene very strong in her build.

But this is also no sense because every lissandra abilities is to kite.

I go for a ROA if i'm playing top, otherwise I just go athenes( or if i get fed, straight zhoynas)

just another thought, maybe give her W a shield since usually you'll jump into the enemies and then use that. (maybe scale it based on number of champions hit)

Or at least I do.
