Objective proof this is the worst meta ever
- Cloud 9, the only NALCS team to get out of the group stage at worlds, benched 3 starters.
- Doublelift complained and Ghostcrawler had to reply publically.
- Madlife retired.
- Faker of all people has been benched. But considering how bad they've been this year, he's probably happy to be away from the smell.
- Rekkles benched himself specifically because of the meta
- Wraith of the LCK has retired as well.
Riot, even the pros are now of the opinion that you suck. As people get benched and retire fans are going to lose enthusiasm. I mean if they aren't happy with playing the game and now their favorite team is either gutted, benching the best players in the world, or publically starting to hash it out with riot, how are you going to expect them to react? I think we've reached a point where if the pros are QQing about the state of the game as much as the boards are, things are bad.
If this meta is so bad not even Faker is good enough to play in it, the rest of us are screwed to the Nth degree.
Riot, I really think you need to drop the normal stuff and take emergency measures to fix your game.
>Rito's anticipated response: > >But we can't do anything drastic because of the pros!
What pros? I'm not sure how recognizable the pro teams are going to be if this nonsense keeps up. All 4 of those things happened in just the last month and a half. I really think you guys need to start taking risks because this season isn't normal enough not to take some risks. Doing nothing isn't going to fix the game.
Unless of course if you are fine with this year's finals to have a terrible meta and have relatively low veiwership.
...
NA LCS is still going to lose though. So don't think that they can sneak into a finals win based on all this upheaval.
EDIT 1: added Rekkles and Wraith status
in it are usually automatic losses for them.
