I'd like to keep the discussion started here going, as we even had a RED response.

In the effort of a new, more thematic but still interesting passive, I'd invite you to look at what google shows for mad scientist

What do you norice? Everyone has a flask

I believe it would be really cool to tie the passive to a this concept.

Here is what I propose.

New Passive: Mix! Mix! Mix!

  • Singed starts with Experiments Flask with no charges in his inventory, but can not buy crystalline flask.
  • Singed gains 8 max hp and max mana for every stack of Mad Experiment

Here is the description of the flask item Experiments Flask:

  • Not sellable
  • Buying an health or mana potion gives instead an additional charge to the flask (max 5 charges)
  • Consuming a charge of the flask gives a stack of Mad Experiment and restores [X] +(% of Mas Experiment stacks) health and mana over 15 seconds

It would be cool at level 9 to allow the flask to bu upgraded in one of these 3 options, which give

  1. Lighting Flask Consuming a flask charges gives a move boost of 3 seconds decaying over 1 second

  2. Nerve Burning Flask Consuming a flask charge gives % tenacity for 2 seconds

  3. Muscle Strengthing Flask Consuming a flask charge gives % dmg reduction for 1 second


Why doing this?

  • It's extremely thematic with his lore. He is a genius mad chemist who was taken as apprentice from WW, how experimented over others and even over himself. His lore reads

By this time he was barely even a man, his body both ruined and sustained by his ingenious craft. A thousand burns – accidents of shadow and flame – mark his ravaged form, and exposure to such harsh conditions has deadened his nerves, hardened his body, and strengthened his physique, transforming him into a veritable juggernaut.

  • Preserves the fantasy of a disruptive late game back line hunting menace. With the upgrades he can have a response to the enemy adaptation to his stile. If heìs being blown up he can get dmg reduction, if he's continuously hard CCed he can take a little tenacity, if heìs kited he can get a small speed boost

  • Still makes him tanky, but only late game. Singed remains gold dependant to scale, and takes time to scale, but eventually becomes a big juggernaut.

  • Preserves his identity and fulfils the fantasy of a mad scientist, who makes himself stronger and stronger with his potions and when he's experienced enough even makes his potions have additional effects


Reason for the proposal

I wanted to make a passive which was not completely gameplay changing for him but still was more thematic.

The reason for the flask item to be there is to prevent singed to go to 6 items + innate scaling. The flask item slot which is "wasted" is compensated by the passive hp scaling, so singed can focus on resistances and dmg.

He still gets max hp the more the game goes on. You need to manage your potions right in order to always consume them before recalling and making sure to always buy them, so that you'll scale. If you are a bad scientist and forget to drink your potions, you won't scale that hard late game.


What do you think?

I didn't put numbers because this is very dependant on the power curve they want to give him, but there are a lot of levers to adjust for making him tanky in the part of the game the balance team think is better for him. Would you like to play
