Why does Hextech Gunblade cost more then Blade of the Ruined King?

Arduno··1 votes·1,014 views

item 3146 Hextech Gunblade cost 3400g and item 3153 Blade of the Ruined King cost 3200g

item 3153 Gives % damage per strike and it gives you AS to help you proc more of its passive while also giving you a slow that will heal you

And hextech gunblade gives you.... damage wise less... while costing more then Blade of the Ruined King why??

Hextech gives an insane amount of spell vamp, plus 2% more life steal, and really it's not that bad damage wise.

Because AP, Spell Vamp, and more AD. It's mainly for casters (who may also have auto attacks as part of their rotation.) especially hybrid champions.

20% spell vamp 12% life steal 45 AD 65 AP active deals a lich bane amount of damage with a slow and it the cooldown is significantly lowered with each auto attack on champions. It is worth more.

Better question- why does Hextech Gunblade exist in the first place?

Akali the unseen ninja is the best ninja the useless item is the best item.

Basically only Akali uses it anymore.

Basically only Akali uses it anymore.

Evelynn can use it as well since she utilizes all of it to great effect.

Fun for breaking the meta when you want to try a stupid build.

let's count the items and the recipes base stat (UNIQUE stats count, passives and actives don't)

item 3144 (1600) +25 AD +8% Life Steal

item 3145 (1200) +40 AP +12% Spell Vamp (UNIQUE)

Without combining item 3144 and item 3145 (2800) +25 AD +40 AP +8% Life Steal +12% Spell Vamp (UNIQUE)

item 3146 (combining price: 600, total: 3400) +(25+20) = +45 AD +(40+25) = +65 AP +(8%+4%) = +12% Life Steal +(12%+8%) = +20% Spell Vamp (UNIQUE)

item 1042 x2 = 450x2 = 900 +(15%x2) = +30% Attack Speed

Without combining item 1042 and item 3144 and item 1042 (2500) +25 AD +30% Attack Speed +8% Life Steal

item 3153 (combining price: 700, total: 3200) +25 AD +(30%+10%) = +40% Attack Speed +(8%+2%) = +10% Life Steal

conclusion: the reason item 3146 is more expensive than item 3153 is because AP and Spell Vamp

BTW I'm wondering why the recipes for item 3153 isn't item 3144 and item 1043 since it is more slot efficient??? is it about logic??? because Cutlass+Bow doesn't make sense... and Dagger+Cutlass+Dagger is makes sense...

I doubt it's about logic. I mean, we have item 1052 build into item 3145 build into item 3152. It might just be to make it less slot efficient, so that it takes up more space in the inventory when it isn't complete. Though, it is probably to make it easy to build early and when backing frequently, because everything except the final combine costs is in segments of <=450g.

yea, i was thinking about that too...

so i think since other items like item 1026 + item 1058 = item 3089 item 3191 + item 1058 = item 3157

maybe the only thing that have the most logic is item 1001 and the 2nd tier that doesn't have additional recipe... the other one maybe item 3086 + item 3057 + item 3044 = item 3078

so why item 3153 recipe wasn't item 3144 + item 1043 ??? and some AS item have item 1043 that doesn't contain item 1042 in their recipe???

Higher AD, also gives AP as well as a good chunk of spell vamp and it's own useful active which scales on AP.
