Taliyah's new W guidance/advice/help??

I made a topic on the matter earlier and didnt really get any help so I thought I'd try again. Has anyone with/without PBE experience figured out how her new W is supposed to work? I've had many occasions where the spell simply will not cast unless I stand completely still while casting it (hovering my cursor over a targetable unit moving or not) which obviously is not something you want to be doing when you've got someone chasing you that you NEED to kite. I'd really appreciate some information or help on the subject. I really cant grasp m head around this "new" casting system, and it feels as if it is sometimes unresponsive to my inputs. It kind of sucks because I had finally started learning taliyah and gotten my mastery 5 with her the day before the patch update and now I'm practically new to her because of how important a role her W plays in her kit. Any help would be greatly appreciated, I want to be able to take her into ranked again.
