Why I'm Probably Not Ganking Your Lane

Disclaimer: I am in no way a jg main or a highly ranked player. These would be my personal reasons that you may or may not agree with. I would love feedback instead of mindless downvotes too if you disagree.

  1. They have a gapcloser ability and flash up at the same time One gap closer makes me iffy on ganking a lane (see point 2) let alone two. Get that flash down and let me know.
  2. I won't get anything out of it Every time I gank is an investment with risk where I lose gold from not farming or gain gold from an assist. I like gold as much as the next guy. So if I can't get a flash or assist or something decent out of it no I'm not ganking just because you pinged me
  3. The odds are even. If you aren't in immediate threat of dying, I tend to not counter gank. Why? See point 2. I gank to stack the deck against the enemy not even the odds. Better odds means a kill which means gold.
  4. I don't have vision on dragon/baron. Half my job is making sure I gank the other half is making sure I'm ready for objectives. And if I have to choose one, read point 2 to see which one I probably will choose.
  5. You're feeding. Okay not quite this rule is very situational. But if you're feeding point 3 becomes more of a reality which also makes point 2 more of a reality. So instead of having one underfarmed team mate we now have two.
  6. You're top lane. See point 4
  7. You've pushed your lane and won't let it push back. I don't mind pushed lanes as much as some junglers seem to. What I do mind is not letting is push back when I've come up through lane and am losing gold to you not letting them push up.
  8. It's warded.
  9. You badly messed up a previous gank. I pinged multiple times blew flash (although honestly I shouldn't have blown flash if you were this far behind) and chilling smite and you're farming minions or only halfway up the lane. See point 2.
  10. You're too low. Yes if we get the kill we get an assist plus the kill gold while they only get the kill gold but I would prefer you just not die.
  11. I wont hold that tower. While not about ganking, tower holding is somewhat over rated. Lane experience is nice but if I can farm camps in and be closer to a potential gank in another lane, I would rather be doing that for the most part.

1.Because they have flash? Really? REALLY? please. lmao if you gnak you usually get a free flash, and come back within the next few minutes its a kill because they are like "oh he just ganked he wont gank again"

3.counter ganking means you and me could BOTH get a kill. if the odds are even or remotely in our favour good chance we both get kills but you don't seem to like gold like you say.

  1. Sweep it/pink it or gank from a different angle. lane ganks exist.

  2. Holding a tower is betetr then going bot to get some gold. letting it fall (when easily defendable by you) gives the enemy GLOBAL GOLD as well as the laner who took it extra gold.

I'm no jungle main but it is my 2nd main role. I'm also decently high ranked. I don't agree with some but a few i may.

Perhaps I wasn't clear with the counter ganking. If I can get a double kill great. If you barely managed to get out of there and neither of them are even below half health not a lot of reason to come up there If you actually ready ALL of point one it says gap closer AND flash. It's a lot harder to kill someone who has both than just one

Hence you BLOW the flash with the first gank then "leave" they engage and bam what do you know both the gap closer is gone(they used it laning) and they have no flash (because they just blew it 2 minutes ago!) congratz you got a free kill. Counterganking usually the laner gets out before they take to much. or if it is warded you set up it so when they "gank" you run in and then its a 2v2.

couple note here.

Top lane can be a fine place to gank in a number of situation whether A) your top laner is a Jax, or a Nasus. Even if all you do is blow the enemy flash or zone them away from farm, it will help. or B) if the enemy can be significantly denied by early pressure. (especially if you deny someones RoA, cause that needs time to scale.)

I would hold tower for a little while, cause that's solo lane farm. Granted your designed to take Jungle camps, but solo lane farm is good, and the XP and gold would just be lost to the tower anyway. The only time this is a problem is if the person completely abandons their lane.

And if you leave a lane to fend for themselves (which may be unavoidable) You need to gain advantages in other places otherwise the team as a whole fall behind.

I don't NOT gank top lane I just have to have drag control. If the enemy has nasus consider me top lanes support because I am almost NOT leaving

My biggest issues are with 2 and 11.

For 2, you have to understand that simply being present in the lane makes you a threat. If they were being super aggressive before, you appearing to only chase them off is a huge breather for the laner. Even if you think you get nothing out of it, a close call (even without burning flash) for the enemy is enough to make them play more passively, at least for a few moments.

For 11, I don't know how to word this without sounding like an asshole. I basically think it's selfish to think like this. Some laners are able to take turrets relatively quickly, and losing a turret at 7 minutes allow that laner to roam and make a presence in other lanes. I mean, if you're near blue on red side, don't come cover top while your laner backs. But if you're at Krugs, just come into the lane and protect the turret for one wave, jesus.

Perhaps I need to edit it for clarity. When I wrote that I mean early game covering where trades are so close the lamer cannot push the tower. Someone's early game even if they do push the tower their damage is slightly more than a siege minion. The tower damage vs reward for doing something else just isn't there for me early in the game (thinking up to level 4 at least). People seem to love towers way too much IMO sometimes you gotta let the little guy suffer for a bit if you can get something much better
