What if Pyke didn't share kill gold with his allies?

This would give him the same weakness that every other assassin has: he'd funnel too many resources to himself, and would thus put his own team behind. It's the reason why it's bad for your team if you for example go 30/0 on Fizz: yes, you can one-shoot anyone in the enemy team, but then while you wait for your cooldowns the fight becomes a 4v4 between the enemy and your own kill-gold-starved team.

This though would also make him more hated than he currently is, but it's not like there's no other champion with a resetting execute that tends to multi-killsteal (Darius )...

That would defeat his purpose.

He's not an assassin, he's a support assassin, there is a huge distinct difference. Pyke is taken as a composition choice to attempt to increase your teams gold advantage at the cost of having less support utility. That is, he can't directly support the way other supports can. (No heals, no shields, and he can't stay effective without items / with support items as well as other supports can.)

That aside, you are underestimating the value of assists and all the other sources of gold. The team of that 30/0 Fizz are not gold starved from not getting the kills themselves. They are also fed from assist gold, cs, and towers.

You have to realize, it's not "your gold, teammate A's gold, etc." It's your team's gold vs enemy team's gold. It doesn't matter who gets the killshot, it's beneficial to all 5 of your team members. Even when you're talking about carry and support, it doesn't matter if the support happens to get the kill. The carry still gets the assist, and the real gold advantage for them as an individual is from the cs they get after. In more direct words, kill stealing doesn't exist.

Because then he'd stop being a "support".
