when you can't win a 5v5 team fight lane game, do you just try split pushing? or what?

Generally having the jungler and mid take jungle objectives while top pushes and not pushes a different lane, they'll likely be too busy to stop all things at once and then with objective pressure you can usually force them to be in awkward transitions so the mid/top and jungler can collapse on awkwardly positioned enemies putting your team at an advantage You just need to make sure you have deep vision and are aware of their movements

Other post is great

As a sup I like to set up a ward trap at an objective, or around a buff. People like to ward / do buffs solo so it makes a good pick. Then you get to play a 4v5.
