PSA: ADC is responsible for their Support just as much as they are for ADC

Difference is we sacrifice the extra resources as well as our own lives most of the time because it's our job to enable the ADC, so please only play ADC if you are very good at the game.

Check your standards for what you define as "good". Worst thing is someone who is bad but thinks they are good so they don't think they have much to learn, like how dementedly important the level 2 powerspike is in bot lane, and knowing every champions kit instead of just the meta champs etc...

Point is a lot more people should be intimidated to play ADC and practice/educate themselves before attempting to intentionally que for it in ranked.

As a support main I'd just like to give advice to ADCs. I've seen great ADCs and I've seen garbage ADCs. If the enemy isn't there or if your support is zoning them completely off, there is absolutely no reason for you to be missing CS. You don't have to have perfect CS but you shouldn't be missing half the minions without a lane opponent. That's pretty basic. Actual advice I'd like to see in action is right clicking. The support can't 2v1 the lane; the ADC has to poke as well. If the support is taking damage, the ADC needs to help disengage by attacking. If the support landed CC, the ADC needs to capitalize on that and auto attack them. Good ADCs will weave autoattacks in towards the opponent when they aren't CS'ing. Bad ADC's will only focus on CS'ing and not once attack their lane opponents.

The former can be left alone around level 6 because they get fed, letting the support roam to other lanes. The latter has to be left alone, because that ADC simply won't let them do their job. Also, obviously, don't push the wave mindlessly. If you keep getting ganked yet refuse to freeze the wave then the support should totally stay behind the river. They should try to save the ADC from the gank but honestly it would be better for just one to die instead of 2. But also don't let it push into your tower. If the enemy has three waves of minions because the ADC won't kill em, it's impossible to poke for the support. Your skillshots won't go through the horde of minions but an autoattack will cause the minions to take away half of the support's HP.

I don't want to start a support circle jerk, but I don't see any bad support players because I'm the only support in my games. So I can't give advice. But yea. Don't queue for a duo lane if you suck at the game, because now you'll do bad naturally but you're bringing down someone else with you and pushing two enemies ahead as well. X.X

I've given advice such as "Zyra you build Liandry's so you should be using your E to make plants not your Q," but only when I feel bad for them since they're losing really hard. I've also said things like "Lux build a sightstone" because that is shit nobody should have to deal with, not even the enemies

I've said it before and I'll say it again, but it is the SUPPORT that dictates the bot lane. If an ADC main has a good support, it's almost a promised win bot unless the enemy is better of course. If your supp is bad then there is NOTHING you can do. At all. A support dictates far too much in the lane.

Supports decide when to engage. Supports ward (even though you should be warding too) Supports do the disengagements. Supports poke. etc, etc

ADCs are hopeless without supports. That's why they need them. It is a HUGE responsibility to be a support and a bad one can potentially put an ADC too far behind and they may never recover. Again, ADC's are so demanding because they KNOW this. But some support "mains" don't.

If you are not stepping up to pressure the enemy supp from poking me and I back off and miss CS because of it, it's just as much your fault as it is mine. You HAVE to have a presence in the lane and you HAVE to pressure the enemy laner otherwise you are completely worthless and you are enabling our lane opponents to pressure us without repercussions.

Also, do NOT engage when a wave is pushing us far back under our tower and we're taking minion aggro. A lot of supports engage at the WRONG time and get upset when the ADC doesn't follow-up. Also, it is MUCH harder for an ADC to poke than a supp due to the fact that the ADC will be focused and CC'd instantly. They have to either 1) Have their supps covering for them or 2) Poke whilist their supp is being poked at/engaged on. Too many times has my supp been caught only for me and my supp to instantly turn on their adc and burst them to hell. ADC's HAVE to be careful and they can't afford to put themselves in harms way.

That's true of either. It doesn't matter if the ADC or Support dies, they're both worth 300G. They both should be poking tbh.

I don't agree with this thread because good is way too relative and people tend to see themselves as better than they are so telling them to only play ADC if they think they are good won't even change anything, and that's if you accept the premise that they should actually be a better player else they stick to another role , which I don't because then that leads to them having an inflated ego for no reason other than them being an ADC which just creates more of the stereotypical ADCs I always see the boards complain about.

As a Support main, I just tell my team that I am only as good as they are. What they do, I follow up. I don't have a choice. I'm not going to be able to hold off anyways if my entire team is dead. My teammates usually shut up with the blaming when I tell them that.
