when there is a big battle with lots of particle density it's hard to track, and sorry if i dont study every skins color patterns and what color there clone will be.

there are ways to tell the diff yes, but it would be much much easier and reliable to have the text, instead of saying why, just ask why not?

fr0d0longd1ck6 votes

They're discouraging it because its a lazy ask. You should be able to be able to learn how to tell them apart in a hectic team fight, not beg for riot to make the game simpler. If you fuck in in game because of a system designed help you fuck up, its on you.

I'm colorblind. And no, colorblind mode does not fix it. They still color shaco red/green. Im still not sure whether he's normally red or green.

TequilaZombie4 votes

He normally red, but I have no clue on how color blindness works, so I'm not sure if this info helps;

GaleWinUnleashed5 votes

Red-green colorblindness makes red and green look like dark and light shades of yellow-brown, respectively. This is an extremely simplified version, of course, but the end result is that severe red-green colorblindness limits your color vision to mostly muted shades of yellow and blue.

Did this person bring up colorblindness? no.

But you'll notice the word 'clone' next to their username?

I mean, I know everyone focuses differently, but in a teamfight, both text and a small colour change are the same if you're trying to see a lot of things at once.

Toplane Fencer2 votes

I guess this would be a lot clearer for colorblind people at least.

It's the skins that bother me. I can usually tell a Shaco from his clone if he's a normal Shaco, but when he's using some rare skin that I rarely see? I have no way of knowing. I'm not familiar enough with that skin to know which one is the clone and which one is the real one.

Also bear in mind that this is something that is very hard to learn as someone who isn't the one actually playing Shaco. If you play Shaco a lot, you'll quickly get used to which colour your champion is and which colour your clone is. The other players on your team will only see you occasionally, and will usually be focusing on something else at the time, and will actually see your clone even more rarely. You need to play a lot of games with a Shaco on your team to really get enough time with the clone colours to become familiar with them, and then multiply that for each of his skins.

Just making all of the clones greyed out would make it much easier to grasp.

I always shield the clone as Janna because that's the thing that moves into fights and takes damage and I get flamed literally every fight for not being quick enough with the shield. Even though they're out of range or it's on CD or I'm oom. It's like a support reflex. Then sometimes I'll shield the one I believe to be real, but it turns out the player is juking. So the one standing still that died that I didn't bother shielding, because the one that was running away got the shield?

Plsplspls Rito do this. Every half second matters and it takes a second to see which is real.

Wait but the clones are different colors if you are in their team.

I'm colorblind. I basically don't pick kayle when my team picks LB/Shaco cuz i know im going to fuck it up. For some god forsaken reason they thought that coloring one shaco red and the other shaco green was a good fucking idea.

Turn colorblind mode on?

Edit: So, you posted like 5 posts in a row and only the first one was on the first page of posts so I didn't see that C/B mode doesn't work properly for clones. Rio should definitely fix if that's an issue for y'all.

Lulu "that tasted purple". You have to taste the colors not see them

color blind people?

A unique color on the health bar would probably be the best. Most people just look at those anyway in a high stress situation.

SO TRUDEAU

I like this idea. Along with perhaps a total palette change that's consistent across skins. Like, just wash them out in solid gray, even. That even kind of reads as "fake", in a Pleasantville sort of way.

I've had the opposite, and intentionally tried to heal and shield the clone to save an ally. The way people work, if the clone isn't doing something odd like running into a wall, is that they think you'd never waste your spells on the clone, so they disregard the real one. It led to a clean getaway for LeBlanc.

LionelLeon7 votes

I like healing/shielding the clone as janna/nami/raka because the enemy team might think that the one i supported is the real one and try and use their abilities to kill them.

BastionKross7 votes

I often end up doing this by accident and then claiming it was mindgames all along.

Lol, i remember i ulted the clone shaco twice in a game as kayle, he died both times and i got flamed xd. I never played shaco so i had no clue which was him. I got flamed :P

LadyRenly4 votes

I am very terrible at league, zil ulting the clones

I can never guess the right shaco on the enemy team, and in a super fast teammate, cant tell a friendly one either >_>

James Winter4 votes

Yes please!! This would be sooo helpful during a touch team fight!

Sizzzle4 votes

Just click on the potrait in the bottom right, rather than on the champ itself. That way it always casts on the original.

WMWMWMWMWMWMWMWW3 votes

pretty sure they made clones a different color than ally

Rysophage3 votes

they are colored...

AllThoseInFavor3 votes

some people are color blind. At the very least make c/b mode change the color to magenta/cyan. That's pretty much the only universal set that everyone can tell apart.

Friendly Ram3 votes

but i love shen ulting the faco so they focus it. It's hilarious to watch. you can also use the champ portraits at the top of the map if you have difficulty with this.

Kingnewgameplus3 votes

You janna shield the leblanc clone They burn everything to kill the clone Bait success.

LU Vanilla Rice 2 votes

It's not a bad idea, but you can see which is fake and which is real. As well, if you need to ult, click on their champ portrait, and that way you can't physically miss them.

LuxannaVeritas2 votes

Correct me if I'm wrong...

...but aren't the clones a completely different color than the original? I usually don't have any problem figuring out which one is a clone.

Dr Poro3 votes

They are. Perhaps when they are wearing a skin that you don't know yet it might fool you. Maybe the clones should be completely grey to their own team.

SwiftKitten882 votes

i agree.. i haveMorgana spellshielded the wrong one before i have Nidalee healed the wrong one before

yes they are different colors.. but i don't PLAY those champs.. i don't know what the CORRECT color IS.

Zaryelle2 votes

Normally I can tell them apart pretty easily, but in hectic team fights and emergency saves when I'm Zilean, Kayle, Morg, Lulu, Soraka, etc there have been times where I accidentally used it on the clone.

YumScrumptious962 votes

They are different colours. I aplogize if you are colour blind but adding text just makes it already too much, Riot does not want to put any more confusion into team fights. If you are colour blind, try to watch for which one uses spells, the clone can't do spells, should be easy if its a fight as they will be putting out damage and spells consistently.

Hello I am Bird1 votes

That's not what colorblindness even is in the first place (For most people)

In general, they just see different colors than we see, not no colors at all.

YumScrumptious961 votes

I never said they don't see colours at all, I don't know why you would assume that? I just said they are different colours because OP never mentioned anything about colour blindness, just that they need to make it more obvious. I assumed he might not be colour blind since colour blind people are a minority, hence why I mentioned I apologize if you are colour blind, because I know that you can not tell what some colours really are and can see them as other colours.

OokamiNoSora2 votes

not necessary its already obvious

Im replying to this kind of old comment, just to say idiot*, idiot...

Zedex1 votes

theres the original color which you see off the start, and for most of the game, and then theres the alternate color which looks a lot different color wise then the original. Unless you're colorblind, there is little to no excuse for you not to be able to notice a difference.

DarkRitual1 votes

Some of Shacos skins use different colors. If you don't play as or with Shaco often, you might not be able to tell at an instant. Also, if you don't play as champions that can interact with their clones, it was never important, untill those champs become meta again.

Popstar Kogmaw1 votes

cast the spell on their champion icon.

DarkRitual2 votes

In a chaotic teamfight, that's a terrible option.

Limrick1 votes

Add a circle like in One For All, put it under the real one.

Khadaver1 votes

Maybe make them entirely black and white or something since some people don't enable usernames.
