PSA: The game just started? Use your FREE ward that you get from the warding trinket.

Seriously.

The first sixty seconds of the game and you plan to sit at your tower? The very least you could do is ward the entrances of your jungle. It will not harm you in literally any way because if you ward at the start of the game, you'll have your ward back up roughly when the minions arrive in your lane. Meaning you'll have protected your team from dying to invasions for practically no cost to yourself. Your ward will be off its cooldown and you can place it to cover your lane.

It makes me so sad to see how many people don't ward the jungle entrance whether its the bushes in river or tri bush down at bot lane. You have to be extra lazy to not do so and it only hurts your chances of winning. Literally last game I had a Zed who went straight to his mid lane tower when the game began and refused to use his ward. The result? The enemy team snuck in and killed our jungler in an invasion. This is also due to them not properly warding with their trinkets as well.

But this still amounts to the same reason. No early game wards? You won't see the enemy team if they invade your jungle, meaning you're risking one or more deaths or summoner spells to an invade.

tl;dr: Its the first sixty seconds of the game? Use your ward trinket and ward the entrances of your jungle.

Couldn't say it any better, I've had a few games where I warded a jungle entrance and it prevent a death or two coming due to the vision. Spread this thread around! More people need to do this!

I hate counterjunglers. Part of the reason they are so hard to deal with is because your team won't help you ward, seriously if they could ward the entrances for me then I would have a trinket up for when i'm taking red so maybe I won't die to Shyvana.

Love counter jungling with Shyv.

Everyone is released from the fountain at the same time. You're doing something wrong if you warding the dragon bush and it has 5 people already in it. Maybe don't wait 30 seconds before moving.

If you're someone that slow, you can just ward the bush closest to the entrance of your jungle over the safety of a wall.

No, sit under your turret. Don't ward, don't leash, don't bother, don't give a damn. In fact, do whatever you want.

This has been a PSA from someone who couldn't care less.

So many PSAs these days, it's ending up as abused as the word "toxic" and the term "ad hominem". These boards reek of unoriginality.

I never do this because i keep thinking I will use it later. Thanks for reminding me to use it early:)

Good point. If you arrive at the lane at ~0:30, minions arrive at about 2:00, and the trinket will be back up by ~2:30.

But that ward will time out at 1:30; since jungle camps spawn at 1:55, most people who are invading won't leave their own jungle until 1:40 or later.

That's why I prefer to sit in a bush for a while, then place my ward around 1:30-1:45 and head to lane.

Upvoted can't stress this enough people seriously need to stop afking or jacking off at their tower the game starts when we all load in not when minions come to your tower.

Actually, I find it better to save it until it's actually NEEDED to be used. It only lasts 90 seconds, and the likelihood of a level 1 gank is incredibly slim. I usually save it until I hit level 2 or something

Michael Bacon12 votes

There's a much higher chance you'll be invaded than level 2 ganked. It may be the opposite for you but that's just based on my experience.

HayRoss1 votes

Depends on the lane. I often hang around top lane, where I usually see much fewer invades

BallisticMouse6 votes

I see jungle invades way, way more than level 1-3 ganks.

But we're talking about avoiding surprise invasions so your jungler doesn't find any "surprises" that ends in first blood. One trinket can do so much.

By the time you hit level 2, at least 2 whole minutes of the game has passed. If you're really stingy like that, you can use your ward immediately and it'll be off cooldown right when you want it.

Would you rather risk your jungler getting set behind because you fear a level 2 gank, or have incomplete level 2 safety?

It's not like my jungler was gonna help me anyway. He was just gonna afk farm in the jungle to get his devourer then do fuck all because the game is already over and every lane got shit on without his presence in the game.

It lasts 90? I always thought it was 60. I usually use is very quickly because since I'm playing normals at low elo, I can go much deeper in their jungle than a pro game for example

You can run to their blue and the ward usually times out right before gromp spawns.

I usually just sit in a bush until 1:10-1:30

Gotta love level sub level 30's and their powers of logic.

When do you NEED a ward? Hard to say cause by the time you REALIZE you NEEDED a ward you are already dead or running for your life. Kinda like the whole purpose of the ward their buddy. I don't really blame you, this game is not played the same at all "levels" of skill.

wats a trinket?

High51 votes

Totally agree. I usually ward blue if possible. I don't like surprises and also like to know where the enemy jungler started. If you're not warding, you're not tryin'.

Wards save champion lives.

"But Warding doesn't improve ma damages!" -Idiots these days Sigh, one day, one day people (besides the support and sometimes jungler) will learn what a ward is

IllllllIIIIlllll1 votes

I prefer just to sit at the tribush on blue side, or the river entrance on red side, only warding around 1:35ish in case of a lvl 2 blue/red invade.

DazedOnlooker1 votes

This makes me sad, when people don't ward in the beginning too. I recently had a LeeSin jungler roaming a bit and camping at our bot lane tri looking out for an invade with our ADC, i went to go ward the enemy blue across the river and saw no one. and we assumed that they were top, so our Lee left for his red first, and i followed, and legit the moment he made it to his red, the entire enemy team had deleted him from the bush beside the red camp..like wtf obviously 1 ward was not enough. Had our mid at least warded the small bush in the river, that could have been avoided.

I felt soo bad, because there was nothing i could do to help him. xD

MVDuneCats2 votes

As a support, I so rarely see mid ward that bush that I wind up warding it myself and then heading back over to the bot lane entrance, where I stand and pretend I'm a human ward.

Professor Ward1 votes

i havent been successfully invaded in as long as i remember and i dont ward early, i agree that an instant ward allows it to be off cooldown but i feel that actually placing your team in the correct spots early make you basically un gankable early

PiVoRx1 votes

Evelynn Yes, ward.. Think you are safe while tanking red buff.

RisenDarkKnight1 votes

I see way more lvl 2 ganks than jungle invades. But that's probably because I'm just in silver, where people aren't coordinated to invade the enemy jungle 9/10 games.
