Kalista's winrate is pretty bad

Maybe riot shouldn't create champs with troll ults.

Seriously though, what do you all think is wrong with her? Aside from her ult, I don't see much that is wrong with her kit overall. I'm getting a bit tired of the champ balance team's increasing inability to create a working champ on their first pass through. Azir was bad on release. Cass is still getting fixed. Yasuo went from OP to UP after the last nerf. Now kalista's has been released in a broken state.

Kalista being good invalidates all immobile melee champions so i could care less if she's good

Please PLEASE. Don't make threads about champions being weak until at least 3 months after they are released.

Yasuo was "bad." Gnar was "bad." Azir was "bad." (Okay Azir was buggy as hell. Still kinda is)

Yasuo was considered extremely OP after a month or two after his release. Gnar is now pick/ban in LCS and SoloQ. I'm pretty sure we're going to see Azir pick or ban in LCS once people figure him out.

Riot is releasing some really mechanically complex champs right now, just give people time to learn them >.<.

Kalista has enough base damage and utility to be a great ADC. Just wait for it. Mark my words. I'll be waiting.

In answer to your question about what I see wrong with Kalista's kit - The spear, which is an item and not an ability, needs to be made into a choice by the soul-linked. I can't tell you the amount of confusion it causes when Kalista does not declare who she will link to and randomly chooses a player at an inopportune time (always after leaving base) and the player she chooses can't do anything but watch their character die and come back and usually die again. The ult has a steep learning curve, so people who are trying but not quite there seem like they're trolling.

The real problem i see is that the soul-linked doesn't choose to accept the link. Not only does this cause problematic gameplay, but it also seems to go against the theme of the character. Kalista's lore describes her offering the spear and the one who summoned her must choose if giving their life is worth the revenge they'll take. In game, she's just murdering you without your consent and then using you as a weapon, without your consent...

I would rather not be left without a W passive or an ult in lane just because my support decided they don't want to bind. And it's not like there's a threat of dying to the enemy team when we bind in the first 15s of the game before leaving base.

In my opinion she is just a weaker vayne. She has a weak early game and is stronger late but not to the level that vayne has. You need strong kiting mechanics and she can be strong with someone who is a very mechanically strong player but she is not a champ that someone can just pick up. She also usually needs a good support that they have chemistry with, most likely a duo.

I think the biggest problem with Kalista's winrate, is that people are binding the support, and playing as an ADC. Just like Quinn, Kalista is better suited for top lane, and soulbinding the jungler.

Because as horse shit as Lucian dashes every auto is, she ultimately doesn't do damage as fast as top carry picks, and this game is pure burst damage or gtfo.

Lucian shits on you instantly, Corki shits on you instantly, Tristana shits on you instantly and has a long ass resetting jump and hyper range, Caitlyn starts at 650 range and wins lane automatically, etc.

Kalista is just a bullshit design. Not fun to play against and shitty on top of it all.

Actually I'd like to add I can't fucking stand this fucking character

Kalista is very, very effective against melee champions. However against ranged, even if you dash some 200 units, an ADC can still AA you regardless. As well, since she cannot animation cancel, she does less damage than other ADCs.

I personally detests going against a Kalista. She is either going to get a favorable match up and kite my team to her nexus, or she is going to get blown up by the mobility creep champions.
