League changes every 2 weeks

Mira Arya Enthe··67 votes·3,061 views

The meta sometimes faster.

And when it does. Top tier champions change. Broken items change. Shitty champions change. Class and role values change. Pro picks and bans change.

And yes, people's complaints change.

So can we stop these.. "my champ fien two months ago y u problm now?" ..posts?

EVERY champion is capable of being OP or shit. The champion is no longer fine because they are no longer fine. End of the story.

On the same note, just because a champion was OP last week doesn't mean they cannot be weak this week.

I remember when Syndra was seen as the one of the worst mages during season 3&4.

Frightning5 votes

Funny part was: she was (still) busted AF back then.

KoKoboto1 votes

I remember that too... I don't think she was the WORST but she took 'skill' to play back than. That's why I started playing her.

Malicious Metal6 votes

But one thing never changes...

Nobody plays Mordekaiser.

Mira Arya Enthe3 votes

I mean same with Shyvana. Unfortunately they are either blatantly broken or underused. But I don't mind playing an obscure champion. Makes those moments when you blow them up all the more fun.

You're saying that Shyvana is obscure?

cries

Mira Arya Enthe1 votes

1.13% pick rate 0.07% ban rate and very few popular memes unlike Morde. She has too high of a learning curve in terms of strategy and itemization for newbies but is too mechanically simply for outplay skill junkies. But I absolutely love her; 735 games.

exiledFromBadmen1 votes

I don't know whether I should come back to her. Is she viable at this point (considering that Blade of the Ruined King got buffs in past months and I was away from the game for a while)? Sejuani seems to have better ganks now.

How are you doing, by the way?

Mira Arya Enthe1 votes

Sej is great right now. And I am good though just finishing up two straight weeks of work without break.

Shyvana is viable and usable but not strong. You have to be good at her to make her work. My w/r on her is 63% ranked 67% normals.

Big Lincoln1 votes

sejuani is literal freelo so you should use her until riot dumpsters her

Marshbouy2 votes

good thing too because i hate facing him.

Danjeng7 votes

You should be happy. If Mordekaiser was popular, he would be hated, not praised. He's helpless against certain champions who can avoid his attacks, but he completely dominates those who cannot.

You would have posts on both sides. One probably complaining that he's trash tier and that OP doesn't want to see one on his team. Another saying he's stupidly broken and needs nerfs. Be glad he's not meta.

Thilmer3 votes

"The meta changes a lot"... then you see Lee Sin has been GodTier in the jungler for five seasons.

The problem is that the meta doesn't change enough; if a champ is broken in January, there are great chances of that champ been broken during the whole season.

Jamenawerl1 votes

Meanwhile Yorick, Urgot, Nunu, Heimer etc. are trash tier since season 2 or even before.

Skins Project5 votes

Doesn't nunu have the like second highest winrate?

Jamenawerl2 votes

Having a high winrate doesnt mean he is strong, it just shows that the ones who play him do well in the situations where they pick him.

Danjeng5 votes

After the buffs, Nunu is actually one of the stronger junglers. He's like a dumbed-down, more reliable Ivern. Very few can control objectives as well he can.

Jamenawerl1 votes

Except he doesnt have any hard cc nor spammable shields, which are Ivern main strengths.

Danjeng2 votes

That is true. But they both fit into the category of supportive junglers. Which means they don't carry by themselves, but instead boost their team's performance. In this case, Nunu has strong soft cc, in the form of consistent slows. His blood boil and ability to execute monsters provide buffs to his team.

Jamenawerl1 votes

He already slowed before the buffs. They just gave him a little bit of extra damage thanks to the passive and made him tankier IIRC.

I mean, maybe he can be a decent niche pick but putting him in the bs levels of Ivern sounds exagerate.

Skins Project1 votes

Ivern is #1 Win rate

Nunu was #2

They're both support junglers

Hint Hint

Jamenawerl1 votes

Winrate alone doesnt mean shit.

Hint Hint

Skins Project1 votes

Not what I was referring to. I was talking about Support Junglers being strong.

Anyways, winrate alone doesn't mean anything. True.

However winrate can be used to analyze if a champion is in a bad spot.

Any champion at the top of the list for winrate is generally speaking not BAD. It doesn't mean they're top notch, but someone on the top of the chain is not "trash"

Jamenawerl1 votes

Amumu, Nautilus and Sion arent played at all, Sejuani wasnt played before the reworks and LMaokai is an AP support now. Gragas and Zac were always busted tho.

Not necessarily true in my experience. There have also been cases of OP champions that were being played competitively having a shitty winrate under 50% in yoloQ, even below 48%.

Having a high winrate doesnt mean he is strong

????????

Anidan1 votes

Let's be real: I've seen that argument more than once on the boards. I've also seen a lot of people say that having a low winrate doesn't mean the champion is weak.

Context is required.

Skins Project1 votes

Hmm.. My point was more that, while he might not be top-tier, it's hard to argue someone is "trash tier" when they have a well above average win-rate.

Might just be me, but I classify "Trash tier" as 100% dumpstered and usage is just putting your team at a disadvantage.

As well as Yorick getting a rework and becoming good, Urgot is soon to get a rework, and Heimer is still a good brainless champ.

Mira Arya Enthe3 votes

Nunu had a period of being broken last year. Urgot is intentionally bad. Heimer they are trying to figure out what exactly to do with him since he is so oppressive otherwise. Yorick is fine.

Jamenawerl1 votes

I know, but Leesin is already oppresive and Rito doesnt keep him intentionally weak... Quite the opposite, in fact.

Favoritisms.

Mira Arya Enthe1 votes

I don't disagree. But there are different kinds of oppressive. Lee has counterplay and can easily fuck up. Someone like Garen when buffed is so Binary he can steamroll you with stats. Lee does in my opinion need work to make him fair. But he is not comparable to binary champions in balance reasoning.

Jamenawerl1 votes

Leesin has less counterplay than Urgot or Heimer imho.

Also, they already gutted other difficult champions like Azir or Kalista, so add double standards to the list.

Mira Arya Enthe1 votes

Azir and Kalista had no counterplay worth noting. Urgot and Heimer only do because their numbers were shit on. Even my friend Tyrek, a former Azir main, realizes how BS Azir was. He was an ultimately safe lane bully, hyper carry, peeling, high CC, mobile utility mage who had no safe method of defeating him. Lee has issues but not even close to comparable.

Jamenawerl1 votes

He was an ultimately safe lane bully, hyper carry, peeling, high CC, mobile utility mage who had no safe method of defeating him.

Change "hyper carry" for "initiator" and you have succesfully described Leesin.

Urgot relies on landing his E, which can be dodged. Also, his R is interruptible and if cleansed with QSS you can position him wherever you like. Heimer needs time to position his turrets and is useless if you fight outside of their range or destroy them before you engage. Both his missiles and his grenade are dodgeable.

Leesin counterplay is limited to dodging his Q, which sometimes he can just land from point blank range.

IPromiseTomorrow1 votes

Ahh Azir~ I wish his soldier Autoattack damage wasn't nerfed It was so good and destroyed people who didn't even SEE him.

I'm just nothing down what I miss about Azir. Just an old Azir main ^^

JavelinJoe2 votes

Tell that to Azir Skarner Kalista item 3800 item 3091 Urgot, especially item 3056, and possibly a few others things which rarely see any kind of increase in play/pick rate. And if they do get a buff from somewhere, they usually are nerfed in the next patch, or the change is reverted/nerfed and once again they fall back on to....

Urgot is literally getting a rework very soon.
