Taric ult, the logic people have on it.

Glîtchy··1 votes·2,466 views

Random player: Taric's ult's op if you get 45% CDR, it goes off like every 20-30 seconds.

Taric player: It's not OP, Malphite ult, Tank Ekko, Poppy, and Zed ult are op.

Me: Not sure if you're stupid or are actually joking. (I'm not even kidding someone made this argument against someone calling Taric's ult on full CDR op)

So this is what league has de-evolutionized into..... [slayer-jinx-unamused]

Why would Taric need his ult every 30 seconds? Unless I'm mistaken, I don't know any team fights that would last long enough where that would matter. Plus, there's a huge lag time before it executes, it's not instant like Kindred's or faster with proximity like Bard's.

From how it is worded i cant tell if Op feels that tarics R is op or not.

It is if you build 45% CDR, then it's up EVERY team fight.

As with the majority of ults...because people typically don't teamfight if their ult isn't.

I see a problem with his ult since it cannot be cancelled AT ALL, I have no problem with Lux's ult having pretty much the same cool down time and ignoring cancelling since once it starts, she can't change it's direction.

Like almost every other ult in the game :P Most ults later in game with CDR are on about at max like a 75 second CD. It is all about when you decide to fight. If you want to team fight the second everyone respawns, be my guest, but you can't really complain about an ult being up every team fight.

When it's Taric's, I can complain since it's broken as hell and can't be cancelled.

Ya, it is annoying; but then again; you can't cancel Kayle Ult, or Kin Ult, or Zil ult, yes, taric can give it to an entire team and I feel that it should have a much higher CD, the argument that it is up every fight is just bad.

When a team fight is only 30 seconds after the first time he used it, it's not a bad argument since that's a ridiculous cool down time for an ult that can keep the entire team from needing every ult up.

Also Kindred's ult is fine as is since it effects both sides, Zilean's ult is only up for like 5 seconds before it fades, and Kayle's ult only hits 1 person vs. Taric's which can hit the whole team.

EDIT: I have NOTHING against the idea of this kinda ult but one of the following should happen,

  1. If it effects the ENTIRE team it should have a VERY long cooldown like 120 seconds.

  2. His ult shouldn't be effected by CDR.

  3. It can be cancelled by kill him.

one of those 3 factors would balance it out.

I did admit it needs a significantly higher cd, did I not? And every 30 seconds is still not a valid point unless you are playing a pick/siege comp. If you are playing a team fight comp/AoE comp, that fact it is up every 30 seconds is irrelevant.

How exactly is it irrelevant? I mean the fact that his ult can easily change the course of the game, Ik Ori ult and Malphite ult are like that but they at least have easy counters, since Ori's ult is dodged by Fizz, Banshee's and Zhonya's, Malph's is practically the same deal, Taric's can't even at least be cancelled by knock up/stun.

Because the CD is irrelevant if you blow everything you have in one big team fight due to the fact that when you respawn your ults are almost back up.

Yea but all it takes is a little cc on him first and that can delay his cast which adds seconds onto your teams ability to drop some one or do damage before disengaging. Its strong but there is plenty of options for a team vs taric.

The difference between Taric's ult and say, Lux's ult, is that Taric isn't channeling once he hits R. When he hits R, the spell is counted as being cast, so the delay starts followed by the execution. That's why it can't be "cancelled." In fact, I've had a game where I hit R and then was promptly killed, effectively reducing the area my ult affected, since only my Bastion Buddy was affected at that point. Taric's ult has a lot of counterplay built into it and I don't see it as being problematic. If anything, I can see them shrinking the AOE of it, but other than that, it's perfect to me.

Yeah, but it's not like Zilean Kayle or Kindred ults, you just back down or force them to scatter when it's charging up. Any amount of peel really takes the edge out of the power his ult gives, since it doesn't make them immune to CC

A 2.5 second window of power that requires your team to huddle up, allowing you to take lots of AOE damage unless you huddle at the very last moment isn't the most nutzo thing ever. Malph and Zed ults are probably not any more OP, but tank ekko was so nuts he had a close to 90% pick/ban.

I did that with a Janna ult before, still went through, I flashed into the middle of their team and ulted, Taric got pushed far away from his team while the team was on the opposite side of my ult, still went through.

Kai Guy1 votes

odds are his bonded broski was in the group that got pushed away. as janna you could have just waited for it to finish then pushed all of them away from team and/or hit a Q to provide a disengage, with hardly any damage output lost for your team.
