Why is Ekko's kit so forgiving?

His gapcloser also functions as a dissengage, his W gives him an extra second to proc it even if he failed to time it well. His Q lets him farm easily when behind. Ult is just a second chance, with a fairly low cd late game.

His damage isn't too bad either. Why is his kit so forgiving, tho?

His gapcloser also functions as a dissengage

That's the case with a lot of gap closers. It functions much worse as a disengage than it does as a gap closer though.

what? His w is one of the hardest skill shots in the game to hit.

His Q lets him farm easily when behind

There are a lot of champions that can do that though.

Using his ult well is a lot more complicated than just an "oh shit" button when you make a mistake.

^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^ It better functions as a damage source early into the game, because you don't always have the damage to kill in one combo.
Late game its the "I killed your Sona now ima get the fuck out of here button", because you have the damage to kill a squishy in 1/2 qw and e rotations.

His W gives him an extra second to proc it, meaning he can simply E into it and then dash to you for the shield, even if he failed the placement.

Yeah, doesn't mean it's not forgiving as hell tho.

Mhm. How come he functions perfectly fine without ever landing his ult? I've oneshot with a E+Q auto as Ekko, and wasn't even fed.

because he's an assassin? Akali can dash out of fights with her R or W and gets sustain off of her passive Evelynn gets a massive speed boost and slow reduction as well as being able to hide easily Fizz ... is Fizz. Kassadin can easily get out of fights with his R Katarina is designed to be able to jump around a lot Khazix has a reset on his evolved e to escape, plus his unevolved e can easily be a disengage as well as an engage Leblanc can dash twice to get out of a fight MasterYi gets a slow immunity and a cc-dodge tool Nidalee is like the only assassin with no escapes Nocturne gets a spellshield to dodge cc and a movespeed steroid Rengar has his w and q to disengage Shaco can q over walls to escape Talon can e over walls to escape Zed can w or r to get in and out of fights

All Assassins have multiple ways to use their kit for engage and disengage. If they didn't have a way to get out of a fight, they'd be completely useless because they'd jump in, kill their target, and fucking die.

Well the difference is they don't hit R and teleport, potentially out of danger if used properly, with insta-health. Could also be used for damage. Plus he can get a shield from his w. I don't think his ult should provide him with health imo, but w/e.

Point is Ekko gets to walk into his W to proc it even if it doesn't land on him. It sticks around for so fking long.
