So apparently you can flash away from J4 during his ult animation

And avoid the damage completely.

So not only is the terrain he creates completely useless, but the damage isn't even reliable either. I wouldn't be surprised to learn that you could use something like LB's W to avoid the damage too.

Wtf Rito. Why is this WAI?

This actually applies to A LOT of champions, where if you flash, it will some how NEGATE a move that you saw hit them, it always cracks me up when i play Lux, and throw my Q, and watch it go literally right through their body, but they flashed, so it completely negated the fact that it had gone directly through his body.

But yet Nidalee can throw a spear that doesn't even have to touch you and it'll hit regardless of if you flash it or not xD.

Riot made this with several abilities, like fizz Q, I guess nidalee W.

This applies to a lot of other champions

LeeSin - Flashing away at the last second completely negates Q2 damage XinZhao - Flashing away from E last second completely negates damage and CC Nidalee - Flashing away from W2 will completely negate damage

But there are some strange cases, too.

Ekko - E will always follow dashes/flashes. Volibear - Flashing away from Q doesn't negate damage and CC.

It's not strange.

Ekko's E is a blink, not a dash. And Volibear's Q is just an autoattack modifier. You can't flash an autoattack.

Lee Sin's Q2/Xin Zhao's E/Nidalee's W2 are all dashes.

I guess my main question then is..............why? Why is the damaged still not applied?

Because if you flash away before they get to you and they are essentially attacking nothing they shouldn't do any damage. It was very frustrating flashing away to safety but still dying to Fizz's Q even though you were nowhere near it so Riot removed it. There are still a lot of abilities that apply damage even when you flash but Riot has fixed a good amount of them.

Because Jarvan's ult is coded as an AoE. If you're not in the AoE, why would you take damage from it? The targeted section of it only determines where Jarvan jumps.
