Daily reminder that Randuin's Omen needs some kind of change.

Warlord Rhinark··1 votes·1,130 views

With Infinity Edge now dealing true damage, which, if you didn't know, is damage that cannot be reduced, the damage reduction on crits on Randuin's Omen is completely useless.

Only if you rush this as your first item, before the enemy has built Infinity Edge, is it viable and even then the enemy doesn't have that big of a crit chance so it's not even guarenteed to reduce any damage.

It's garbage and it needs to be changed.

If you guys have any ideas on a new Randuin's Omen, feel free to post it in the comments below.

Why call it a daily reminder if you aren't going to remind them every day? What you mean is "random reminder" or "Every so often reminder".

Well.

Yeah the title would be more accurate.

But it doesn't have the same ring to it if you ask me.

By the way, what's your opinion on Randuin's Omen's current state?

Hehe true.

It's a tank item specific for dealing with crit and AA. It also has a slow active making it great for stopping people from running away. Last split this was the perfect armour item, this split less so. I think it's a great item that's out of it's meta, though I doubt I'll stop building it on Illaoi anytime soon; that slow with her ult... xD

But doesn't Righteous Glory just do what Randuin's Omen does, but better?

Gives the same amount of HP.

Gives half the armor, but gives 300 mana, 100% base health regen and 10% CDR.

Doesn't have the almost useless crit damage reduction passive.

Doesn't have the almost non-existant Attack Speed slow that you can just get from buying a Thornmail anyway.

Has a 30 second higher cooldown, but also speeds up your champion and slows enemies for 20% more.

And to top it off, it costs 250 less gold.

I don't see any reason to buy Randuin's Omen over Righteous Glory right now.

Right now that might be true (though 60 armour is obviously much better then 30 armour) but when cri adc's are shredding tanks/juggernauts etc, or yasuo/trynd are in top lane, randuin's shines. Right now when most crit champions aren't so hot (i know yasuo and trynd always seem to escape 90% of the nerfs but nevertheless) of course randuin's isn't the best option, but then it's a choice between righteous glory and deadmans and because of that armour difference I'd probably still be looking towards deadmans rather then righteous glory.

The attack speed slow is 15%, that's really good. It's not base attack speed, it's total, which for an AA heavy champion, really works well.

All it needs is 10% CDR or something. We're in an almost every item has CDR meta, yet Randuin's expensive and less armor than a item 3110 .

I bet if you put 10% CDR on there, everyone would buy it.

P.S. It wouldnt help too much, given most people you want to defend vs are doing True damage more than Crit damage.

So you're saying it should look a little something like this?:

Randuin's Omen.

Cost: 2700 gold.

Armor: 60.

Health: 300

Cooldown Reduction: 10%

UNIQUE Passive: -20% damage taken from basic attack critical strikes.

UNIQUE Passive - Cold Steel: When hit by basic attacks, reduces the attacker's Attack Speed by 15% for 1 second.

Unique Active: Slows the Movement Speed of nearby enemy units by 55% for 2 seconds (60 second cooldown).

Builds out of: item 3082 + item 3067 + 900 gold.

I don't know how I feel about this.

CDR is already so easy to get and it doesn't fix the problem of ADCS just getting free true damage.

I still think it needs some bigger changes than just CDR.

The price reduction is great though, even if it means less health on the item overall.

Easy as heck to get CDR isn't the problem. The problem is while you are saving to build it (assuming as your complaint probably a second item), you LACK the CDR.

Unless you start item 3071 , most AD builds wouldn't stack CDR fast enough. That CDR is what enables outcompeting an enemy.

If it's 5th item or 4th, CDR isn't an issue. But by then you're dealing with item 3033 item 3036 , so not as useful.

CDR moves up its priority.

And Personally, i might buy it on Pyke if it had some CDR, just because some of the most unbearable champ matchups vs Pyke are Crit champs.... (MasterYi Yasuo Tryndamere )

But I don't buy it... because with item 3025 /item 3110 I can at least use Transcendence to get them to give me some AD, and cap out my CDR if it isn't already.

In games you need one, you pretty much never ever get to a 4th item, because the feed is already that far a long.

ADC's aren't the ones getting free True damage (they get 15% if they build a item 3031 and crit, but that's a long build structure, and the true damage doesn't help their life steal or crit amplification...... so it does have a downside.

Conquerer is the #1 source of true damage. That's melee.

Well.

I guess I can understand.

I just still think the crit damage reduction passive needs a change because all three of those champions you mentioned run Conqueror which is even more true damage on top of the true damage.

Tbh I could compromise. Another part of its problem is that item 3110 item 3075 item 3143 more or less have the same .... WEAK ..... Cold steel passive. Vary it up a bit. We need an item that reduces attack speed by more than 15%..... Crap ton of attack speed runes, items, etc.

If Yi for example is going to have True damage and perma massive move speed/resets..... we need a counter Guinsoo's item as an option to survive his hits. So many meta teams do not have enough hard CC or damage output rate to keep up with Yi.

Maybe Randuin's could be 25% Cold Steel.

I don't think increasing the Cold Steel passive would do anything, seeing as Yi becomes immune to all slows when he activates his ult, even Attack Speed slows.

...... why didn't I know that before..... That truly sucks because it not only makes Yi exclusive to the item 3124 instant abuse club, also makes him exclusive to the "I can run attack speed runes to overcap my attack speed, and there's nothing you can do about it" club.

Explains why so many Yi's take Lethal Tempo. 4 attacks per second isn't something any kit can deal with readily unless there's a miracle stun hit.....,

Basically seems like only solutions are actually to just item 3026 item 3157 ..... since the items can burn out some of the duration of his ult.... so that you can at least get it out on cooldown.... but those don't even help if a teammate of yours dies and gives the ult another 7 seconds....
