The Meta

The meta isn't constructed by Riot. The meta can shift. 2 months ago if someone picked Urgot mid vs. a Zed, he'd get flamed and possibly even reported for trolling. Today Keane did it and his Urgot shut down Bjergsen's Zed with his ultimate every single time he went in.

Rather than complaining about whatever champions are in-meta, you can adapt and shift the meta, and this game along with the UoL vs Fnatic game just goes to show what that really means.

People need to stop complaining and start analyzing.

EDIT: Don't misunderstand me. I'm not saying Riot plays no part in the meta. I'm saying that we as players are equally responsible for the meta. Don't complain about the meta if you never put any effort into breaking it.

You're half right.

The meta as a whole can be beaten by players, but don't pretend Riot doesn't do things that sometimes stops/slows down meta shifts.

Sides, no one really wants the meta gone, what would they complain about?

Remember how Riot promised for EVER about a Veigar rework? But it NEVER happened.

And then pro players started playing him, and everyone saw how hard he countered high-mobility-LCS-big-play-makers.

BAM reworked the very next patch.

So yeah don't tell me Riot doesn't actively affect the meta.

I never said Riot doesn't affect it. I said Riot doesn't construct it. It isn't a set-in-stone thing that is determined solely by Riot's balance team. Sure they make some questionable decisions such as the Veigar nerf you mentioned, but you also mentioned how the pro players were picking him to counter high mobility, and that's my point. The playerbase is also just as responsible to define and evolve the meta. Don't complain about the meta if you don't put any effort into breaking it.

Yeah Riot doesn't like old immobile champions making it hard for their pet LC$BIGPLAY$ champions.

Honestly how long do you think it'll be till tank junglers are nerfed again so we see more Lee Sin, or Nautilus' buffs being reverted. To say Riot doesn't interfere with meta shifts would be stupid but people can play whacky picks and get away with it.

In my opinion meta will always be a problem but I prefer a tank one where I have a chance of fighting instead of the assassin focused bullshit of season 4 and preseason 5.

You're only telling half the story. He counters more than just mobility champs. He counters every AP caster in existence. And he hyperscales. So yea, he deserved the nerf.

Meta isn't about champions. Meta is a strategy word. From season one League of Legends meta is stell the same: 1 top, 1 jungle, 1 mid and 2 bot. Meta differs from another moba games (In dota you have 1 top, 1 mid and 3 bot, with 2 of them constantly roaming\farming jungle)
