how to not get fucked by zed

MunchCrunchLunch··4 votes·1,078 views

how? other than talon. I can't seem to do it with any mid laner. ap mid laners. he leavers lane. goes bot lane. double kill. from there on he just kills everyone on the team under the turret? what is there to be done? you play against someone that can't even last hit and yet they fucking go legendary because they are playing zed.

other than malzahar because everytime i ask for counterpicks everyone says malzahar for some reason

I have never lost to a zed as Diana. Never ever. If your a good Diana you will beat an equally skilled zed

I'm saving to get her. She's one of the few midlane champions I have fun with (when she was free I destroyed a fizz. It was so freaking satisfying). Any tips?

is the whole team supposed to buy qss and hourglass?

Have you not seen qss morgana? /k obviously the answer is no, only the midlaner needs qss or hourglass, he can only ult 1 person

PrinceOfStorms1 votes

The problem with the whole "just buy QSS" argument is that if you rush QSS/Hourglass to negate Zed's ult, most mids will end up very far behind because, if they are an AD champion (and buys QSS), then they will be behind due to building less damage than Zed, while Zed can just build straight damage the whole time, and if they are an AP champion, then they end up even further behind because they forego their mana regen item to build Zhonyas, allowing Zed to shove them out of lane easily due to their lack of sustain.

If Zed were a mana champion, he'd be a lot less toxic.

he has to be trash. that matchup is not even close. your shield is useless. your passive is useless.

To clarify, it was post 6 that i beat him...and it was barely.

its not really me saying that. zed is literally. the counter to kassadin. and so is every ad assassin. he shouldn't stand much of a chance.

Yea...my first match against a Zed ended in me having 2 kills and 4 deaths against him... Which doesn't seem to bad against a Zed.

Ryze Kayle i find these two really useful.

basically spam this button champs. any 4800 ap champs that counter zed? i mean i keep looking up stuff. and he literally destroys pretty much 3/4s if not more of all the ap mids in the game. way to go. lets make a champion that just counters everyone.

MunchCrunchLunch1 votes

i cant chase an ad assassin when he goes bot lane. all i can do is ping. and that doesnt even do shit because bot lane is always a low on health mess and he gets the double under the turret. W OUT to safety

Ban him. The only way to get him nerfed that Riot actually listens to is getting his ban rate up to like 80%.

leona, sivir, exhaust, qss, hourglass, even frostqueens and much more can ruin zed's day. i rather play against a diana mid then zed mid. the problem is that zeds skillcap is lowered because of thunderlords and the early buff on his ult dmg.

Easy. As an AP mid laner, you build Zhonyas. Now, this means you can't get your precious mana regen item right off the bat so you have to be a bit more conservative with your spells, shocker. However that's the price you pay for negating his ult and reducing his damage. If you're an AD mid laner, like Talon, then you should win. Talon naturally defeats Zed should Zed not successfully poke him down. If you play something like Yasuo, it's all about dash harassing whenever possible and windwalling his shurikens.

You can't help roams. If he goes down and gets a double kill, that's bot lane's fault. They need to ward, you need to call MIA. That simple. That's not a basis to judge a champion on. You can do the exact same thing.

Don't listen to anyone that claims rushing Zhonyas destroys a mage's early game or something. It's just a price. It's not fair that you can build an item that negates damage a bit, makes his ult do nothing, AND keeps your spell spam. You give up some mana regen in return for him losing a bunch of damage and the loss of ability to tower dive you really.

And yes, you do build QSS or zhonyas on almost everyone with a zed in game. Same as you build a QSS with a WW or malz in game. One could say "Not fair I have to build an item with X champion in game" but the counterplay is that the item just about negates a button on their spell rotation.

Vs Zed, play stuff like Talon, Malz, LeBlanc, Cho Gath.

Make sure you rake him more than he Q's you in lane, auto attack when he tries and CS if you think he won't destroy you. If you do that, once you hit 6 you're unkillable. The second he ults you, you ult and just wait it out and jump on him. Guaranteed win.

Malz requires timing in that as zed ults, you place your null zone under you, pre-emptively place your silence so it'll hit him right when he comes out of his ult, Space aids him, and then ult. Guaranteed kill, especially with ignite.

LeBlanc can burst suddenly, and has so much mobility that if Zed ults, unless she has no health, can often take no damage. Especially since you can jump on Zed and chunk lots of health, and upon falling before a certain threshold many Zed's instinctively ult and upon that, you just port back to your W's starting location and you traded a 12 sec CD or so for a 70 sec CD. And you have mimic so can do it all again.

Cho is just tanky. He is constantly sustaining, eating minions for more health, building RoA. Zed ults, place your Q before he lands, knock up right as he lands. Silence once he comes down from the knock up. Take a bite. If you have ignite, Zed is dead. If not, he's probably still dead. Oh, and zhonyas on any of the AP champions mentioned above. Kills his damage and his ult.

Then that's your ally's fault. There should be wards, MIA pings as soon as Zed leaves your sight, and general of knowledge of Zed's playstyle. That's still not a basis to apply on a champion's strength.

Awesome Zed counterpicks include:

Kayle Fizz Heimerdinger Malzahar Lissandra Chogath Diana Renekton Irelia

Damage negation, anti-assassin ultimates, and hard CC (especially silences) all work wonders against Zed in general. For example, you can also run these champions in Top, Support, or Jungle:

TahmKench MasterYi Graves Ekko Skarner Janna Jax Taric Shen

Hope that you have a bot lane that actually understands what pings mean.

Unless I've already pushed the enemy laners out, I back tf up when mias are pinged. Missing farm sucks, but dying leads to a fed mid as well as missed farm.

I play support and if someone else didn't feed him, you ping that he's on his way (quickly enough to actually leave) and I still get killed, that's on me.
