So what's wrong with Viktor?

I want to start by saying I've only played prerework Viktor once and don't remember much. I've picked him up again recently and I've been having fun (though I really fucking suck with him. I cannot aim that laser in quick moments and I keep dying if I have no peel in teamfights).

So what is wrong with the current Viktor?

First play vik when they have a comp where you can just poke them. Also having Braum Maokai or any CC tank is a godsend. I haven't played in Vik in a week or so. But the wiff of it is, hes a close range burst mage. His core takes up 1 slot. So the normal build path was T2 core into whatever. Also being forced to only have 4 of either Lich, Ludens, Deathcap, Void, Specter really puts a cramp in his itemizing.

His biggest flaw is that he is very teamplay-centric now, whereas before he could operate well on his own. You have to coordinate well with your team to get the most out of him. If you can, he's a monster, but if you don't he can fall flat. So essentially, if you're a low-elo solo player, I wish you the best of luck, you're going to need it.

His E explosion is on a takes longer to activate now, which is where most of his e damage come from. Uhh his burst was nerfed kinda hard, but his damage over time was buffed a lot, so basically he is better in team fights, not as good solo. Still rush the first hexcore for E augment wave clear. Build a counter item to your lane ( zhonyas or abyssal), of course you will want a rababdons. However, since your E explosion takes longer to activate, a rylais will help you slow them to get that explosion onto them from your E. Also i like cdr boots and then either a ludens echo or a void staff. Overall he is probably stronger than he was before.

Litterally, his ult is his bread and butter atm imo. Early it does so much damage its disgusting. 2 sec inbetween burst may seem weak at first glance but its worth it cause of the damage it does. R someone and they dash as you r, the r is still chasing them, their dash is on cd and your ult is chasing still, the windows are just big enough for most to get caught unless they flash. Ive been using Storm raiders surge and it synergizes so well with your kit.
