LCS proving Kalista is broken
Somehow not surprising
Somehow not surprising
I knew her kit was broken on release. High mobility, good cc on your, good damage from skills/passives. Only balance was it took people a long time to learn.
Pretty much this. Her kit looked overpowered on paper, but I wasn't playing much at the time when she was released, so I missed the time when everyone was playing the new champion.
I was therefore very surprised when I came back and no one was playing her.
It was only later that I got to experience for myself the nightmare that is trying to play a mêlée champion against her...
Melee and skillshot immune, huge %damage nuke, and ability to save teammates who gets caught even through cc. On an adc. WHAT COULD GO WRONG?
Nah OP, it is really the same reason TF jungle was banned for a week or two. Pros practice against "standard play" a lot, which includes meta picks. When a really hard to learn champion (Like Kalista) shows up, a lot of the pros don't have time to practice her for a while. And since none of the pros are playing her in scrims, they don't have time to practice AGAINST her and figure out her counters.
This leads to a handful of ADC players secretly practicing her and... BLAM. Suddenly a pro level Kalista and the enemy has no idea what to do about it. So they ban it until they figure it out.
Now, if she is still banned by next split, we will know if she is actually OP or not.
Exactly my thoughts.
Is streaming on Twitch considered secret now? Sneaky and other had been spamming kallista for a while.
No shit they play her in solo queue, but there is an unbelievably huge difference between even challenger level solo queue and playing a champion in a competitive 5v5. We don't know how often the teams played Kalista in their scrims.
Kat is one of the most played and most winning champions in the game in solo queue, and gets streamed all the time. No one plays her in tournaments.
All I'm saying is that it's not some secret that the pros were playing Kallista. I was not surprised in the slightest when Sneaky busted her out and I would be shocked if his opponents were surprised either. I'm not saying they were prepared to face her since she is a fairly new champ, but it was not some secret.
She pretty much invalidates low mobility and low cc melee. It's quite sad. Do they consider what releases like that will do to champion's viability, or do they just say "we'll rework them sometime, probably 2 years down the road, so it's cool"
"Any ADC doing well = broken gg rito plz nerf"
By that logic, lets nerf cait, lucian, koggles, corki, graves, and who else is popular right now?
Try playing a melee champ and trying to catch kalista. An adc thats deals tons of damage while simultaneously being uncatchable is overpowered, and there is no argument to that. I challenge you to play Darius when an enemy kalista is on the other team, only then you will see how broken she is.
