who beats jayce in top lane early game?

serious question. who exactly counters him early game. I can't seem to be able to outtrade him or not die to him early game. and eventually snowball on me.

and its always the flash big giant hadouken that kills me under my turret at about level 2-3 while am trying to run away.

other than patheon because pantheon counters everyone top lane early game

who has more kill pressure and gets to be more offensive against jayce than jayce is against that hypothetical champions at levels 1-6.

wow, everyone kills him. His base ad is super low and you can even miss CS. His Q dmg is also garbage before lvl 4. Don't forget also that he can't spam abilities until lategame.

Nobody.

Don't play to his strengths and try to trade him early, that's what he wants.

hes ranged and ends up poking me out of lane so idk what to do.

traditional toplaners can a lot of people have switched to other things though. Think season 2 sustain meta. wont say they outright win early specifically but they are good against him.

you want a good gapcloser and hard or annoying cc as well though not all of them really have this. Or you just want a ranged ability but the sustain is important

sustain > poke

burst > sustain

jayce has to take risks to burst early and these champs tend to be resilient even if he does manage to get them low and out of lane, most of them anyways. Pretty sure he "beats" nasus in lane but it wont be good enough to win him the game though. Don't pick nasus for feel goods just for safe pick

Nasus Irelia Vladimir DrMundo Jax

btw item 1054 counters the shit out of his ranged W earlygame. Remember this isn't a cheese counter thing its about forcing him to take risks and go melee to win. He's gonna need to ult everytime he needs to get away from you and then he's gonna have cooldowns. You are going to put both of you in a less favorable position but in his case it will result in a longer term window of weakness. He can build items to correct the losing play pattern but all of jayces safe options will inevitably cost him ranged damage and force him to melee sooner or later. If he starts with tear this will only get worse. Jayce flat out cant afford to go tear in many cases against Irelia Jax or other aggressive duelist types like Fiora who probably also performs well against him now

Avoid as much of his poke as you can and get an early ninja tabi if your gold / champion permits, then just wait until you can either kill him or get help.

Irelia

This. Irelia is a great Jayce counter Maybe she doesn't beat Jayce very early on, but she can farm all right and can close the gap fairly easily while having a stronger all inning.

Pantheon ?

he can be countered by jayce.

pantheon will do a lot better against jayce once he has sustain and move speed though.. though warlords does exist now. If you give up some damage you can at least perform in lane now.

lategame jayce will be a non-issue for pantheon

Well it depends how you play him ( Then again I am a mastery 7 pantheon ;x ) I find running warlords bloodlust + Ghost + ignite makes for a pretty cheesy lane Level four being pantheon's big powerspike so I conserve mana for it Max out Q first and get 1 point in W and E for level four then harass enemy till hes 370ish hp Shield bash and unload your damage If enemy flashes blast your ghost still cant catch him? Ignition Firstblood

I also run 19% base armor pen from runes and masteries so I guess that does add in

You got it backwards. Pantheon destroys Jayce in lane, but Jayce outscales him by a mile.

BananaJannana1 votes

Jayce is mean't to be aggressive early. He starts losing at level 6, because every other champ gets an ultimate, but he gets nothing new.

You're doing something very wrong if you trade with him early.

I think Jayce is pretty unremarkable in lane.

Anyone who out sustains him like Olaf Nasus or Irelia do well against him.

I almost never have issues with Jayce as a Nasus main. It is one of my favorite matchups.

I was playing jayce and went against a Shen and did not have a fun time at all

No one beats him early gsme I think ( assuming both players are similar in skill) this is because at lvl 1 have has access to 3 abilities, while his enemy only has one. At lvl 2 he has 5 abilities. So early game Jace should wreck any one.

At lvl 6 the tides turn since he has no ult. I tried jayce this free week. Damn he is op af lmao. I'm gonna buy him for sure he's really strong but squishy. I don't see him as a bruiser, but more like a poke and execute type of champ like nidalee

Picking a tank into Jayce is generally pretty safe, since you'll always be more useful in teamfights unless Jayce either gets fed or the player is a god with him. Also, most sticky duelists can wreck him pretty hard. A lot of champions can out-trade Jayce if he actually tries to fight, but part of his charm is that he doesn't have to fight if he doesn't want to.

In general, you're not going to push Jayce out of lane unless you out-range him. Graves demolishes him at most phases of the game. Better damage, more reliable harass, and a lot tankier and harder to deal with.
