Honestly, Nautilus requires a small rework at this point.

Whenever he's good he crowds out other top lane tanks due to his overwhelming amounts of CC and base damages.

I love Nautilus, he's my second highest mastery point champion but I haven't touched him this entire season. He's got one of those kits that are just too good if the numbers are decent and absolute trash otherwise.

I feel he needs a lot of his power shifted into his Titan's wrath and maybe get a soft rework for his E and passive. Making his E a medium-long CD AoE hard cc would be cool if we'd remove the Root from his passive.

Opens up ways for him to truly shine and feel heavy, just like the Titan he's supposed to be. Like, currently he just spams E and it's nothing but a wet fart.

you're just copying what i said >:( put power back in his W like it used to be

and stop putting hONESTLY in your titles it's buggin me

He needs way more than a shift of power. I think he needs to lose at least one form of CC as he's got no less than 4 kinds tacked on to his kit.

Plus, unlike other tanks he lacks the %max hp damage that allows him to be a threat to them but much less so to squishies.

but that's the direction tanks have gone in since like, sion

look at all the recent re works for example. Besides Amumu it lowered their damage output, but added CC to 3 or all of their abilities. Rammus is about to take a huge hit to his output with thornmail rework too.

I think it's a horrible direction for tanks and for league but some of these delusional tank players seem to think it's a ok to have so much CC and still get damage. poppy and galio are now balance problems because of this

No one wants them to have more damage, but they do need to be durable enough to do their jobs/lane against champs that have high damage and much more sustain currently.

Also, Poppy hasnt been a problem for multiple patches.

They need more ways to avoid/tank damage that isn't just build tanky. Because that shows no skill expression at all. And I mean more than one ability or passive.

tanking isn't supposed to be hard, it's how you spend your time tanking damage that matters

right, she's a shit pick in soloQ. which is a balance problem. funny how that works, isn't it? galio won't be balanced any time soon either, look at that nice 44% winrate.

No one wants them to have more damage,

all I hear when saying CC monsters need less damage is that they need damage to have kill pressure in lane. champions who have CC on 3 or 4 spells should not in any capacity be able to duel or fight people on their own

Does he really need to lose CC? Maybe shift his passive one to something else, or get rid of it to buff something, but I don't think that's completely necessary.

Alistar = three forms of hard CC, one being AoE. Passive sustain. Galio = three forms of hard CC, two being AoE. No sustain. Gragas = two forms of hard CC, both AoE. one AoE slow. Passive sustain. Maokai = three forms of hard CC, two AoE. Two AoE slows. Passive sustain. Nautilus = three forms of hard CC, one AoE. One AoE slow. Active sustain. Sion = two forms of hard CC, both AoE. Two AoE slows. Active sustain. etc. Left some out as I don't play/know em well.

I feel like as tanks go, Naut's in a decent spot. He definitely doesn't have the most CC in his kit but he does have the easiest stun available to him. He's also one of those who can get their CC body-blocked by minions and that kinda sucks. But technically, Alistar gets a point-and-click AoE knockup in WQ. Maokai can get a point-and-click full-team snare in WR or full-team knock-back in WQ. Etc. Naut doesn't have that. Most of his CC even has delays so you can either get out of it or take it in a safe position besides his passive.

Honestly, I don't know what do you mean

pls don't kill me

He is not alone in this. Gragas is also either trash after nerfs (season 6 ult delay nerfs second worst jungler with Mordekaiser Jungle being worse) or is must pick and crowds out not only Tanks but even Fighters from Jungle when he has 50% win rate. Both of them are good candidates for reworks like those Singed, Cho and Udyr are going to get.

Cereal4201 votes

ur kidding right. gragas is anything but trash lol. infact hes one of the best junglers atm

Wet Dryman1 votes

And did I say that he is trash currently? I said that he is always trashed even after small nerfs (like that ult delay back in Season 6) but when he gets buffs then he is back to being top tier pick like he is now. He is never somewhere in the middle.

A thing that I really love about Sion and new Galio is charging the Q and W respectively.

Sion just feels like "holy moly deaderino". Wow Galio in his stance is like just pushing through all the damage and feels like a super tank.

What if one of Nautilus's abilities worked in a similar way? For example his E could be charged up to get more waves that also knock back just like in New Dawn.

Or he could charge his Q with a few rotations before letting loose, dealing more damage or allowing it to go through units like Leona E.

They need to do the same thing with Naut as they did with Maokai - to shift him away from botlane and more towards the jungle where he belongs.

RenownedWheat421 votes

Just saying, I like Maokai more for botlane now than I did pre-rework.

The best i could think is give him a completely new E, and make his current E his new ult, but with a knockup and maybe a stun. Maybe put a resistance buff on his W, or change it to a sunfire effect instead of an on-hit Also he doesn't feel big enough, he feels puny for some reason.
