There are plenty of times when I want to use his ultimate simply for the reduced vision effect, it can be used to enhance other ganks your teammates, cover, stall objectives, etc.

Solidair32 votesThey tried this on the PBE a while back, but I think they didn't go through with it because Noc's would pretty much just use it on cooldown for the vision denial, not use the dash, and just wait for it to come back up and do it all again.
LordKentravyon1 votesthats a fair tactic, and if i remember correctly it was only a 20% refund when it was on PBE so it was still a substantial cooldown but gave you some strategic "fear" uses of his ult which suits his theme.
Furthermore there's nothing worse then useing his ult, loosing vision then having to wait 3min, other champs such as Cait get it back / partial refund

qetzel1 votesThe cooldown is already shorter than TF's 180-140-100 compared to 180-150-120. It is quite different to Pantheon's ultimate. It has no delay and is unavoidable.

qetzel1 votesI ignored that function of TFs ultimate along with Nocturne's vision denial as I wasn't sure how to value each effect.
I think that the denial is much stronger in teamfights and engages (late game) whereas the vision is better for picks, particularly in the early game, and scouting Baron etc.

Bad Nocs use it at the start of the fight, use it instead as information denial during the middle of the fight
