People Complain about the obvious mobility creep.
Power creep implies new content is out-phasing old content, making old stuff irrelevent.
As such mobility creep implies new champions are more mobile than old champions, and thusly out-phasing them.
But mobility has always been really important throughout LoL's history.
There hasn't been a time when people were like "
's ability to teleport anywhere he wants on the map with a QWE skill is so useless, why doesn't he do 500 damages with it instead?"
They were more like, OMFG nerf
. His ability to teleport anywhere on the map with a QWE is totally broken!
Kassadin had relatively similar fame for his ability to be Kassadin.
Also - since the dawn of time, there's been a ton of posts in the forum that basically go:
Is so OP. You can't run away from them, how is diving you under your tower fair? I was chased from halfway across the map and they killed me under tower I don't know how many times, then they just murdered my team. What gives Riot?
Which also makes complaining about mobility pretty suspect, seeing as the most mobile class in the game (assassins) specifically operates on exploiting the mistakes of opponents, which happens a lot in low Elo games, and spawns by far the most QQ posts.
And really, the main reason champions like
aren't being used as much isn't because the mobility on new champions is making them obsolete, it's because Riot was getting fed up with them dominating the meta and nerffed them.
For that matter, there's still some pretty ancient champions like
That are certainly holding their own against a wide range of newer champions.
I'm not sure I'd really call
more mobile than
,
more mobile than
,
more mobile than
.
seems to have a bit of an edge on
, but Ezreal still has better mobility in terms of not coming within CC/gap-closed-on-face range and he can jump over a Zigg's minefield without detonating everything, where the same can't be said of Kalista.
Anyways - You can't have mobility creep if there's no power creep in the first place.
