Because the way the meta is going, sion is next on the list for nerfs. He does a lot of damage as a tank and riot has been nerfing damamge tanks as of late, see the nautilus, poppy, and rammus nerfs. I can only assume shen is coming up on that list soon as well, but thats a topic for another day.

I don't think they're going to nerf Shen's damage, because he has to work pretty hard for his dmg via Spirit Blade positioning, and he has to commit to melee range for a very extended period of time, whereas Poppy is a BURST TANK which is very fucking unfair to play against, and Nautilus had been overpowered for a massive amount of time.

Shen should be fine.

The problem isn't tanks doing damage. That's fine. The problem is tanks doing damage without having to sacrifice anything for it AND/OR doing it in a way that limits counterplay (Poppy, Nautilus, etc.) Sion's damage is countered pretty hard by mobility, so I don't think Sion is going to get nerfs. Poppy and Nautilus have very easy and very reliable and very huge amounts of damage despite being tanky, which is why they got nerfs. Sion's damage isn't as reliable; it's easily avoided by characters who know how to move around him or keep their distance from him. Whereas Naut keeps you in place for days while doing ridiculous amounts of damage with his entire fucking kit, and Poppy stuns you against a wall and does PERCENT HEALTH DAMAGE in addition to preventing you from dashing away from you IN ADDITION TO a passive that makes her do even MORE damage.

TL:DR I will be very surprised if Shen and Sion got nerfs to their damage. However, nerfs to Poppy and Nautilus's damage is justified.

This is the league of legends community. They'll whine about something repeatedly until Riot finally does something about it

Why would they nerf Sion when he isone of the weaker top lane champs atm?

His Q is literally worst then a telegraphed ability, the thing is fucking pigeon messenging slow. His W shield is nice for safe farming, tanking shots, csing and poking, then mid game it becomes obsolete until the point where you stacked enough W passive stacksto make it meaningful late game, which is rarely reached. His E is his best ability for lane in my opinion, it offersa really nice sting combined with W explosion but it usually means you shove lane as you poke. And his ulti is super easy to dodge and you can hear him when he activates it. And his passive.. Don't get me started on that lol.

He has NO mobility, NO range.

So success with him is all about landing CC chains on carries using ult to reach the backline. Once u are there, pray to god they can't kyte you.

If anything, Sion has very clear pros and cons, and should not be touch if not for a small buff to his weak W stacking passive.

calm your tits, both Poppy and Nautilus were doing far too much damage for their builds. They would build almost straight tank and still out damage all the other carries, specially Poppy. They needed to be nerfed, they were too dominate to the point of crowding out other champions.

Sion doesn't really need to be nerfed, if they were going to nerf anything it should be his Q's CD late game, its like 3.6 seconds which gives you a whopping 3.35 seconds to get away from him before he does it again. Combine that with his 2.5 second long 60% slow, and its damn near impossible to escape him.

Comparing Sion's damage to Rammus or Naut is kind of Silly. Unlike them, all of his abilities have the potential to miss. Also, they're stronger than he is early-mid game.
