I don't care about what people say about Lux

She is one of the most annoying champions in the game, if not THE most annoying, period.

I don't understand at all why she gets regular and perpetual buffs every X patches. She already has an overloaded kit who can do literally ANYTHING and only gets powercrept more and more everytime she appears in a patch notes. Yet, I still see people who goes like "she deserves more, look at her winrate in midlane, she definitely needs more power". She.Dosen't.Need.Any.More.Power.

She has long range poke She has hard CC She has massive AoE She has over-the-top damage She has incredibly small cooldowns for overtuned abilities She has massive ally and self shield-casting She has a massively ranged AoE slow She has a refreshing damage source who comes up every time she hits an enemy with a damaging ability She has one of the largest base mana pool early-game She has one of the strongest and hardest hitting ultimates in the game, while being able to refresh it even if its cooldown is one of the lowest in the game

In lane, she is incredibly oppressive against most mages. In teamfights, she can mass-cc and execute half of the enemy team herself while shielding her allies for 500+ Hp. Her visual effects are so confusing that the actual hitboxes of her abilities are as much misleading as Blitz' hook or Morgana's Q, and it only gets worse if she uses a skin. She is overtuned and needs to be brought down, the only reason why she has such misleading winrates is because she is barely played and that she gets 100% destroyed by any midlane assassin, while dominating every other mages. I don't care about her huge fanbase, she needs to have direct counters outside of superior mobility, no champion ever should be able to do anything better than anyone like she does.

Former Lux main here. She didn't need any buffs a year ago when I still mained her and she doesn't need any now. Lux is an easy to play champ and doesn't need so much power that she becomes completely braindead. I'm surprised by how much she hurts sometimes. As for the hitboxes, Riot needs to fix the VFX to fit the hitboxes on so many champs it's disappointing. At least her indicators are accurate, but her VFX needs to be stretched/updated to fit. The only thing I disagree with is the shield thing. Her shield is weak af compared to other shields if you go full ap. It was buffed in S7 tho, so it isn't nearly as useless anymore. Still not in the 500s, from my experience.

...it's a shield that applies twice, doubles in value on the return, and shields UP TO FIVE PEOPLE.

"It's weak in comparison to other shields"

The shield amount is weak compared to other shields in the game. I've never been able to save someone with it. Compare it to Janna's shield, for example. Janna's shield is way more powerful and can save someone bc it shields for so much. I can tell by the type yelling and stream of question marks that you don't want to discuss this, however, and just want to be toxic so...

You don't know how to use it. Simple.

Adding the numbers up, its rank 5 shield strength is 330 if you hit both times with a .6 ratio on up to 5 people. Anyone that looks at that and says "This is weak" doesn't know what they're doing with it.

Is it RELIABLE? No. Is it WEAK? Even more no.

Rank 5 on the last ability to be maxed doesn't mean much

just fuck off already. i'm not in the mood to deal with this shit today. at least the other person isn't an asshole.

You could handle this in so many ways and you chose the saltiest one. That's on you, man.

At max level with 300 AP, a Janna shield is about 420,

At max level with 300 AP, a Lux shield is about 170 at the first time, and gets to 340 when returning, for a total of 510.

The difference isn't that big, (Lux's shield is still, in theory, quite bigger even if you thought it was the opposite) but consider the following:

1- Janna will struggle with her usual builds to get to 300 AP, while Lux easily goes for 500 + every games, which increases the difference between the two shields A LOT (I didn't calculate how exactly the difference was with their meta builds, since I think the difference at the same level and with the same amount of AP talks much more).

2- Since Janna's shield is superior to Lux's ONLY because of its AP scaling, this only makes it harder for Janna to shield for more while Lux has a much higher stat spread in the end, because of the previous reason

3- Janna is designed to protect and empowerer one person, while Lux protects her whole team along with herself while also having almost everything Janna has, but better (BUT, in an offensive context only)

4- Lux, as an oppressive midlaner, scales and snowballs much faster than Janna who needs to split XP and live with minimal gold income, further increasing the difference

5- A Janna will almost never shield herself if she can shield a carry, while Lux always shields herself for a bigger amount, even if she misses an ally with it

The only advantage that Janna has is the bonus AD given to the shield receiver, and the only disadvantage for Lux is that she always maxes her shield last. Otherwise, Lux's shield is superior in almost every way. Just like I said: she does anything, better than anyone and for no reason at all

Not arguing for either point here, but Janna builds a lot of % shield increases, item 3504 item 3107 being core in pretty much every build.

Plus people are still using her as the standard for shields even tho it got hard nerfed quite a bit...

Steel legion Lux Q is super pay to win, tiny animation but big hitbox, that is my main gripe.

No matter how much Lux is buffed, she will always be bad in high elo. item 3070

I swear people just make up lies to tell themselves sometimes.

Lux's win rate is the highest in the high elo.

Why? Because her risk is negligible but payoff for her doing anything is mindblowingly insane. Ofc she is going to be good in high elo.

......

Ah nevermind, it's a Colton post.

But then again, it's still relevant because that's the kinda nonsense Lux mains and/or shills all lie and convince themselves to believe, alongside other nonsense they make up about Lux to make her seem all costly and risky to use when in actuality her problem is precisely because she has barely any risk and cost for her ability spam as well as the highly disproportionate payoff with her ridiculous burst and teamfight prescence; ie low risk high reward. This is also the reason why her win rate is higher the higher elo you go, because high elo player can exploit this kind of bs to its fullest.

That's fair. We all have champions we hate. I personally cannot stand Fiddlesticks or anyone that willingly plays him.

I do want to point out that her shield is mediocre at best, though. It shields a lot of people, but is kinda shitty per person. It's not even maxed second when she's support, that's how bad it is.

Her cooldowns are rather small, though, and she does have poke from just a bit too long range. It's somewhat balanced out by huge mana costs on her E (130 mana at rank 5, on her first maxed ability), though.

My tip against her is to zig-zag to dodge, and get a predictable pattern going, then fake her out the other direction suddenly. Most Luxes aren't going to expect it, so you can just dodge it almost all the time. Also, play Lux. A lot. 25 games, and you'll learn how to beat her. Or you'll climb a division or three, one or the other.

Just like I said in my post, someone who's main counter is mobility isn't healthy for the game. This way, with champions who has 335 or less base movement speed, the only way to actually win is for the Lux to miss her skillshots (who each has 10 second cooldowns...) and that, is bad kit design.

Take for example Brand's pillar of flame (W) : a post here on the boards some months ago proved with maths that, theorically , it is impossible to dodge this ability with under 400 Ms if the ability is cast perfectly centered on top of the target. This ability has a radius of 250, while Lux's E is... 310...

I said fake it out, not use mobility. One Is walking back and forth to confuse them, the other is actually using a dash/dodge/blink.
