LechintanTudor··5 votes·2,184 views

There were 2 iterations of Zed changes tested on the PBE.

Iteration 1: Q bonus AD ratio increased from 90% to 110%. E bonus AD ratio increased from 80% to 90%.

Iteration 2: [Removed] Additional Q's hitting the same enemy deal 25% reduced damage. R damage increased from 20/35/45% to 25/40/55% of physical and magic damage dealt by Zed during death mark.

Please vote bellow which iteration you prefer so we can help Riot make a decision.

Neither

Ether of them will just make laning vs him even that more toxic

according to OP.gg, im in the top 45% of players. And I'm in high silver - meaning the average dude is mid silver, and should have a say in the game. Unless, of course, you are suggesting that Riot should develop an oligarchical strategy, which would suck for everyone but the top 10% of the playerbase.

I disagree with your way of thinking entirely. Every field of ... everything ... in life should be dealt with by experts with the best understanding.

If you want the game to be competitive, you need the most informed players to base the game on the best performers. That's how competition works.

The assumption that the 'average' player should be concerned in the game's design is at odds with its intention to be competitive. If it wer a fun first game, then of course that would be ok. But it's not, its an e-sport.

If I were designing or game or running a business or anything, I would make decisions based on the opinions of the top 2.5%.

And that's why the fields of everything consist of like 300 people. This isn't a field of life. This is a video game, designed for everyone to play, and designed for everyone to have fun. Having shit designed around the top 300 players will only leave the bottom 300 thousand with a shitty experience, and will lead to players leaving the game. Which is considered 'bad' by many.

CelestialPlateau1 votes

No, that's wrong. It's a video game, sure, but one which is a competitive e-sport. Riot doesn't give a damn if the average player has a sub-optimal experience. Your dichotomy of either it being based around everyone or 'shitty' for the rest is false too. The competitiveness of the game is their priority both practically and philosophically.

Riot would be perfectly fine with you deciding this game isn't for you as the average player. I find enjoyment in seeing it as something competitive that I want to improve at and become more competitive in.

This Zed champion is becoming impossible to lane against, with all these buffs to him he just will outdamage anyone at level 6.

.

I'm honestly tired of this champion, it feels that as if he doesn't even need to land his shurikens to deal damage when he ults you, as long as he AA's you and proc's item 3147

.

I saw LL Stylish build item 3812 as his first item and he still managed to one shot anyone he saw, but this isn't all. LL Stylish has been building different things on Zed such as item 3031 item 3046 dealing around 1K critical strikes with just two items.

.

Zed can literally build anything and still deal brainless damage. I don't see him as a "healthy assassin" anymore that Riot considers him to be.

Yes, his level 6 all in is pretty strong and he does outdamage a lot of champions. While he can be very unforgiving to play against, his early game is basically free harass onto him. You also seem like you're forgetting the context. Duskblade gets nerfed.

True enough, i'm still unsure if it's the itemazation that is at fault here with the amount of damage that exists or the runes or even the buffed champions.

Damage overall is higher than it was back in S5, and runes are definetely a central factor. I think it's kind of ridicolous how riots solution to this problem is low effort items. Stopwatch ended up lowering kill and burst potential, and for tanks getting melted, they implemented stoneplate. Just lazy solutions in a low effort to solve the actual problems.

I would much rather see the keystones added as items, and runes removed altogether (of course make up for what is lost in stats, starting AP/AD/HP ect...), or just a completely revert to S5 state. Man, those were the days in my opinion...

Ofc you can build what you want when you play in lower elo and still get fed and do damage. I saw Nightblue going AP Volibear and still carrying.

Talking about LL Stylish, that dude plays more Velkoz than Zed atm, shows how "great" Zed is atm.

How to fix every ad based champion: 1: Remove HP% dmg 2: Make Tabi armor less but gives u 15% less dmg taken on auto attacks like a str8 upgrade boot to improved boots, (IMO every boots should just have an upgrade an not an item that they require ) 3:Bring back 45% Total Armor ignore on last whisper , make it 50 ad , and just remove the 20% more dmg against targets with higher hp thing 4:Cap crit at 45% 5:Make it so shields only absorb 35% dmg per 1 skill 6: Game is fixed! I will go into detail in in reply to explain why will this make the game better.

Break It Down2 votes

1: Basicaly removes the problem of Tanky as hell, but takes all my hp ( Hello Tahm Kench ) 2:Boots should have a unique stat which is limited by other items example: Tenacity ,Tabi effect Mpen, arp, minor attackspeed(35% is overkill RN), Summoner CDR, Extra CDR, etc etc, mostly utility stuff, by doing this, u simply remove an item which is 1100 but completely negates 3 items of lethality ( early game) 2 late game, or merc treads literaly making that +33 Mpen from boots/oblivionorb useless. 3:Total Armor ignore for compensation of lethality removal, will also give bruisers and other AD based tanks the opportunity to choose if they build dmg or for defensive items depending on their matchup. 4:Crit is a stupid stat whatsoever, and its even more stupid once u get IE+Statikk, the Marksman turn into assasins , because they literaly 2shot everything, altho many will disagree that RNG is unhealthy for the game so is 2x 2600 gold items + IE giving u crit almost every basic. 5:Shields and heals , have been insanely overpowered troughout season 7 and 8, ( previous seasons we had them but not to this extent) what do i mean by 35% per skill, for example if i throw 1 spell, only 35% of that dmg is absorbed example Leblanc Q instead of absorbing all 200 and than dispersing, it can absorb 90-100 and still have 100 shield left.

This discussion made my brain puke. I'll trust riot wil lbalance things for the best in the end.

But Q dealing full damage seems bad, how would one counterplay that? Its like Zoe's Q all over again

Zed's double Q is actually pretty difficult to land - against an aware and non-CC'd target.

On topic:

The second set of changes is the most 'boards friendly'. It reinforces his healthy assassination patterns; delayed damage amp in the form of R, and being rewarded for landing multiple shurikens on the same target at the same time (not as easy as boards would make it out to be).

That said, with the Duskblade change, the first buff might be better fitting. It's 'safer' damage which requires less skill, and helps to cover up for the loss of Duskblade's RELIABLE damage.

So one is a rough and ready baseline fix, which replaces the reliable damage he's losing. The other is a top-end high-skill fix, which makes his "best case scenario" all the better.

Neither of those changes are good, his laning is already very strong, they should buff his late game by e.g. Giving him some base stats per level to help him survive later in the game.

Remove GA and Zhonyas/Stopwatch, just like how they removed QSS’ old active. Boom problem solved.

I wanna write a thing here about 'opinions'

Please, look, I know everyone has their opinions and feelings fro their experiences, but when I write an opinion piece I start with in my opinion and express how I am probably mistaken. Every 'fact' I assert isn't based on my own evidence but on the evidence provided by high level streamers, coaches and pros etc.

Opinions are not inherently equal. The belief in that is why we have climate change and evolution deniers in the states. PLEASE, listen to what the experts say and try to learn from that. In this context, zed is NOT broken. He is rather underpowered. He has a low win rate and the pros and coaches express constantly that is far from strong. I'm not one of these people - I'm only plat - but it just so happens my opinion aligns with what they are saying in this case. It often doesn't, and in those cases I accept it and defer to their superior understanding.

A lot of people in lower ELOs seem to think Zed is OP. He is not - the situation is that it takes a certain degree of capability to play against him. Once that capability is acquired then Zed becomes very weak and job he is supposed to be able to achieve. He most certainly needs buffs considering the duskbalde nerf.
