Laning against Ekko sucks
He removes any interaction in lane by perma shoving you with his Q. If you try to all in him he'll just press the magic key R and he'll get away. Also his ultimate only has a 110 seconds cooldown.

Perma shove with Q? He doesn't have the mana to spam it.
Do you even know what "interaction" means in this context? He's a melee mage/assassin that farms in melee, thus he's super vulnerable to harass. The only way you don't interact with him, therefore, is if he hides under his tower or you play like a total wimpo.
An Ekko who pushes his lane early is a dumb Ekko. He'll burn his mana too quickly and his only way to harass a ranged mage is E on top of them. Doing that when he's shoved the lane into your tower means he probably dies. Ekko wants a frozen lane so he can catch you for an all-in or have his jungle come in for an assist.
Later on, when he has an item or two and he actually can shove the lane efficiently, he'll go roam, but there aren't many mid champs who should be getting out-pushed by Ekko.

Ekko Main here, and while yes I push the lane with Q sometimes it is usually when I am level 6 plus and I want to go roam around the map. Simply the Q does not have the damage to clear the lanes that early and if you are up against a ranged mage you will end up missing CS and being push out of lane for wasting your Q and pushing the minion wave closer to the enemies side. Trust me on this. you have to be strategic in how you use your Q in the begining, but the best thing that can happen for me is if someone is trying to shove the lane against me and I can freely use my Q.
Every lane has champs that are either unfun to play against or promote little to no interactive gameplay.

singed does the same thing his e can disengage most trades, his waveclear is ridiculous and wins lane automatically with 3 dark seals which each sell for 245 gold, he loses only 105 for each. well made champ by riot games.
as an ekko main lemme tell you there are so many ways to dumpster him in lane. There are a plethora of other champions that are far less interactive and far more cancerous.
