What if they remove promotions and placements, but everyone starts Bronze V?
The only thing I liked about Ranked was when I was able to climb very fast because my MMR was way above my league.
What if we simply remove the placements (no more 10 matches before ranked, but ranked bronze V after your first ranked match (so you can still be unranked, for those who simply don't want to play ranked but also don't want a bronze V emblem on their profile). Your MMR would be the same as usual: soft reset each season. To make the climb easier (as you'll have to climb more divisions), promotions would be removed (so many people asked for this already).
The only Con I can see is that you can't evaluate a person's skill by looking at rank anymore, because a bronze V can still be at diamond MMR, but maybe that would reduce some of the "you're low elo scrub get gude" toxicity? Currently you also can't properly evaluate their skill when they have a low amount of ranked matches. Someone in Silver II with 20 games played can be better than a plat V with 500 games played.
Another thing is that high MMR players will need to play more games to get back to their rank (although you'll probably only need to win like 2-3 games to get through a bronze division), but is that a bad thing? Riot currently has the inactivity system to make sure that high MMR players have to keep playing rather than just play a few games in a season and that's it. This way, you don't have to keep playing throughout all of the season, but atleast have a respectable amount of games in total.
What do you think? (Yes, I know it probably won't happen and I'm not asking Riot to listen to me, just asking other players what they think about this.)
