How do I lane with a Yuumi?

Out of all of the supports I've been paired with, I can't get any synergy with her. It's tilting me.

She works best mid to late I have seen. Attached on a carry, especially melee bruiser-assassin like Aatrox, Jax, Yasuo, Yi and the rest of the bunch.

Laning, her heals and heals are ok, but gets destroyed in all-ins.

So like with Sona, it's the scaling game, rather than strong lane power.

Position so some one is in her Q range when she is a attached, move to keep enemies in that Q range. When unattached try to stay in range for her to W you. Do not flash for 1 for 1 trades.... you might drag her into death and 2 for 1 is not ideal.

Like alot of support champions thou Most of yuumi in lane apart from this is going to be on their side. If you provide the window but she cant land Q... they don't get poked to hp you can win fights.

The yuumi player needs to be willing to un-attach, body block abilitys,** auto attack**. Her lower HP makes her E more impactful of a heal as a self cast early game then it will on her adc because you both take the same damage but damage on her represents a higher % of her hp pool. It seems counter intuitive to willingly get damaged when your W enables long term un targitibility but at the end of the day any positive HP value is not a death.

Sitting on some one and giving them like 4 ad is not going to out damage 50 something autos. "but I might get hit" So what. again E is better on self cast prior to building a item 3174 and you can W to escape as long as your not an idiot who is unaware of what kits have CC and can manage your CDs.

Basically if they suck your screwed but... that's usually true for most supports.. hell it tends to be true for most champions. God knows having a weak adc is frustrating as hell for a yuumi player.

She's not crazy good in the beginning but you can sometimes catch the enemies off guard and score a kill. However, Yuumi can't really help you much when you get caught so you have to play a bit safe.

Honestly OP, you just have to play the poke game and then trust Yuumi to heal you and hit her Q and shield you, not unlike any other enchanter like Sona/Soraka/Lulu. You're letting the attach mechanic skew your thinking. Yuumi is JUST like any other lane partner.

Really think about this; the only thing that's different with Yuumi is that she's untargetable herself, but otherwise present. Learn her skills in practice tool, look up her core items and runes, etc. The only thing here that makes her unique is that she's untargetable while attached, which while drawing some extra aggro onto YOU the adc, it's negligible compared to the harass that you already get with a typical lane partner.

Try to keep this mindset that "My support is always hiding in the bush, meaning I will always be attacked first" and play a very passive poke lane like you would as Ezreal, MF, Cait with enchanter support.

Farm safely and allow you and Yuumi to reach level 6 then coordinate with one or more allies to catch enemies out for secure kills and, by extension, secure turrets. Yuumi often transitions from back line in the early game to front line in the late game.

View her as a squishy healer in the beginning part of the game who then becomes a steroid for the tank/juggernaut on the team with hard initiating CC. She is not abandoning you unless the player is a fucking asshole. She is merely positioning herself ahead so as to turn the team's front line into a nigh-unbreakable shield.

Play it safe. Don't expect Yuumi to get a sudden catch and allow you to go all in like a Thresh might. Focus on staying safe and farming and avoiding the enemy support's attempts to catch you. Let Yuumi play the poke game.
