My personal solution to everyone dodging from autofill
What about a system where if you dodge out of match made games, you are more likely to be autofilled?
Now a preface here: This system Uses autofill as a mean of punishment. You may be thinking, well, that's not fair? However, this is meant to disincentivise dodging from autofill. Why? Because I hate autofill as well. I just a game yesterday where I got autofilled support after two dodges in quick succession. I had my favorite role, Top Lane, twice, then it was taken from me. I do play support a bit, but I do not consider it my favorite role.
However, many players in this community utterly HATE playing support, so if somebody doesn't like something, we use it as punishment.
It won't be a "one dodge you're out" system, but it would instead be like this:
1 dodge: Nothing 2 dodges: Warning that dodging more will make a you a more likely candidate for autofill. 3 dodges: 50% Increase in likelihood of being autofilled. 4 dodges: 50%+25% of being autofilled 5 dodges: 90% chance of being autofilled
We can also apply this to people who leave games prematurely. It won't happen the first time, but after the third time it dramatically increases your chance of being autofilled.
1st Leaverbuster: Nothing 2nd Leaverbuster: Warning 3rd Leaverbuster: 75% Increase in likelihood of being autofilled 4th Leaverbuster: Have fun with the #supportlyfe :^)
This method would discourage people from dodging, albeit it is a crude one. But we can all agree that it sucks to have people dodging all the time, so we use this as a punishment to get them to stay in the game.
I am also in no way saying support is an unfun, boring role. Otherwise, we wouldn't have support mains. However, people who dodge after being autofilled there despise playing it, so we punish them for every dodge they make.
