and hes a tank/support. like. that doesn't make any sense to me. I have no problems with champions being tanks. for example idk volibear. a giant armored polar bear. tank/fighter. makes fucking sense. uhm cassiopia a mage that does poison damage. shes a snake. makes sense. zed a ninja/assassin that kills people. but shen. a ninja thats a tank that barely does any damage. where is the logic in that. am not hating on shen am hating on riot logic here. what?

Shen is not a ninja. He's the Eye of Twilight. He's a shadow warrior. He used to be a ninja but they removed the "Flipping Ninja" thing a while ago. Nowhere does it say Shen is a ninja (to my knowledge), it's just by convention that he is.

Regardless of his actual role in League of Legends, he is undeniably a ninja.

For serious, though. A lot of older champions who don't have outright unsalvageable kits are simply beholden to an era which could indulge in much sillier, more outlandish thematics as a reflection of a world which was far less grim, dark, serious business and reliant on more stringent ties to realism. Shen's flamboyant ninja skills and such things weren't really an issue until the design direction changed and subsequently Riot's lore department completely upheaved everything that had existed.
