Why Moonfalir Spellblade is not in summoners rift?

Its a great defensive item overall, heres the stats: -50armor -50mr -50ap and a uniqe passive which gives 35% tenacity. But its only avalible on TT, and heres why i think it should be an SR. Mages got 3 items which gives them mr: Abysal, Athenes and Banner of Command, but the last two is mostly built on supports and not viable on mages. So most mages have one mr option, which is abysal. But my problem with it is that it reduces the mr of your enemies around you. Thats great. But long ranged/Artilery mages (like Xerath or Vel'Koz) doesnt really benefit from this, since their abilities ranges mostly out of this aura. So, for example if they are up aganst lb they doesnt have any defensive mr options, and lb is a really hard counter to them. And i know it has other stats as well, but why buy it when you are not benefiting from everything that an item gives. They also only got one item which gives them armor: Zhonyas. Its and item that is almost intant rushed aganst ad assasins, and a lot of time even agants aps. It makes you avoid dmg for 2.5 seconds which is really power full, but if you need to build armor(for example if u are up aganst a mainly ad dmg team, which happens commonly theese days) this 45 ad zhonya is your only option. And Spellblade could solve this issue. The passive of Moonfalir Spellblade is also really good aganst ap mids, becuse they often have a lot of cc. So considering the things above, it could be a nice defensive item which also give you some ap, but you wouldnt build it for that. The numbers could recieve some changes, but i think it should be on the rift.

To be fair, ADs have zero Armor items. If there's a Zed, Talon, or Rengar bodying them, there's nothing they can do to counterbuild other than waste an entire item slot building defensively.

dead mans plate?

Except it does nothing offensively if you're ranged. It's just an HP/Armor item with a passive that makes you go a little faster when you're not being CC'd.

oh so ur talking about adcs...why would they build defensive items? i mean they get one shotted by everyone but thats just how adcs work

They can build ninja tabi as Talon and Zed both have autoattack empowerments, meaning the 12% reduced damage from autoattacks would help against Talon's Q and Zed's passive. I build the item when facing AD Mids like Corki, Jayce, hell it should technically even work against Fizz's w since it is still an on-hit ability at the end of the day.

That's true, although it's not as much defense as an actual defensive item would give.

Also, please don't build armor against Corki. He does about 75% magic damage. Even if you block a little bit of AA damage, it's not worth it to try armor against him.

No other boots item is going to be viable as a defensive option, and damage reduction is still damage reduction, and Ninja Tabi will scale into late game whereas the 25MR from merc treads is guaranteed to fall off. Mercury Treads are also useless because he has no cc, and while lucidity, sorcerers, and swifty's are alright, those are mostly offensive items. Secondly, Corki does hybrid damage so as a mid-laner I would itemize zhonyas and abyssal scepter against him, not that it would help overly so due to his E shredding both armor and mr per second.

Honestly I'd love to have it for snowballing tanks in top lane. I think it'd be a dream item for Maokai.

Amumu, Sejuani, Gragas etc will be too strong.

Because usually AP casters already have CC to counter their opponents, not to mention that they tend to belong in the back line, like the adcs.

Tanky mages that can't be fully cc'd.. what could go wrong?!

i mean lets give an example... Nidalee ... my main.. do you want her to actually have an item that counters EVERY weakness she has? now you cant slow her... so you can't run from her or EVER catch her, she now can actually TAKE hits instead of getting instantly 1 shot when she goes in. and even if you cc her it wont last as long...

It would be a must buy on every tank with mainly AP scalings.
