My 250 HP shield and my squishy ally's remaining HP (about 150-200) should have been enough to save my carry from a Zed with nothing but 
. The Zed simply auto attacked my ally, killing them through the shield and about 200 HP, and walked off while we all stood there thinking, "what?"
Please explain this to me.

ok .. zed lvl .. about 7? 71 ad flat + 25 from item, zed passiv would deal about 64 magic damage (@800 hp max) ... 10-12% additional damage from masteries ... runs maybe an additional 10 damage ... armor and magic resist ... with a single aa he shouldn't even break the 250hp shield

LilxPaprika1 votesif your ult was lvl 1 and you didn't have much ap, then ya she should of died. I think its fair too because it gives enemy team a a hope in hell early game to make plays before late game shen ult becomes a pain to deal with.
as if being able to port anywhere your ally is on map with taunt on arrival isn't strong enough. Lvl 1 shen ult is best used to engage with then to save a team mate.

However, I would expect it to take much more effort than a single auto attack to punch through the whole thing.

Stephenizgod1 votesI had an experience similar and I know this seems reasonable but to be honest its not very fun, so I was Malz against Zed. I have never fought Zed with Duskblade but i didn't think it would be any different than before when I could destroy him for coming close to me. A Zed with only Duskblade and Hexdrinker flashed onto me Q'd then AA'd and then ulted my Kindred so i couldn't ult him. At 50% hp this insta killed me thanks to Duskblade :(. I am so use to being able to kill a Zed right when he ults, but with Duskblade and Hexdrinker its no longer possible, the damage is actually incredibly high. I would have Zhonya'd but i didn't think his Q+AA would do 50% of my HP, i really underestimated Duskblades damage in addition to Zed's extreme no skill damage.
Just to be clear im not saying Zed requires no skills, but all he did was point blank Q then AA me and ult out so i couldnt retaliate, that did half my life... thats an insane amount of damage for how little effort he put into it.

I had Merc Semitar in my build and was building an armor item as my last item to be able to defend more against the fed Zed on the enemy team, who had Duskblade, Maw, Sterak's, Merc Treads, and I think Bloodthirster. He ulted me, so I cleared the death marks with Merc and E'd away, he shot a Q and bam I was dead. I was like wtf? I was full health.
The hatred I have for that champion.....you don't wanna know.

Van Darkholme1 votesZed's passive is an execute and even if your target is shielded, it still pulls from the health total to calculate the damage.
So if you have very low health and get shot by a 4th Jhin shot you're still liable to take 1000 damage.
Kind of a bummer, I wish shields counted as giving you psuedo-health for the purposes of executes and % health damage.
