Why do turrets feel so useless this season?
Title. It just seems that turret diving is so easy this season and makes your turret an unsafe place to stand in lane against some champs.

The normal towers are fine to me. It's the freaking laser towers. They seem so weak.
I dunno how much damage turrets do, but I think there needs to be more % damage involved
they have been useless for a couple years now. i dont know when it started. season 2? or season 3. just remember people 3 man diving at level 2 at some point.
Turret's aren't designed to protect you.
Your designed to protect turrets.
Hell, League Turrets at least dissuade people sometimes.
Well since the new meta, I have been in the top lane or ADC. In the top I get so tanky that the turrets would be useless anyways and I know my champions' limits. If I am ADC I just like to farm and play safe. If I am alone under a turret and they have an engage support, I'll prob just back off. My turret won't kill them alone, that's for sure. Just play the game knowing this. It works against the enemy, too.
I see adc's walk under turrets at like level 2, kill someone and still walk out alive without using heal.
Due to ramping damage, turret diving is easier when there are multiple enemies who can juggle the aggro. However, the overall damage of the laser turrets has increased, and debuffs armor, movespeed and damage, which punishes solo splitpushers.
Laser towers are easier to dive as a team, harder to take by yourself.
Well it's not supposed to be absolutely safe. Don't stay in lane with 30% HP and no mana against someone who excels at killing champions and you'll be just fine.
I think it's a combination of the uber-tank meta and the base turrets just plain being weak by the time players get to them. The slow constant damage they do is easy to avoid compared to the homing shots of the outer ones, and timing when to dive in and out is also easier.
It doesn't help that the two most effective/hated champions are the ones who can just jump in and out and avoid the damage from towers or just have thousands of health and tank it for their teammates.
I feel like some magic damage added to the physical damage they already do would help greatly.
The baste turrets are lame. It's the outer turrets that are the most OP thing on SR right now. They'll aggro by the mere thought of you approaching in range. There no clearly defined line to note a Turret's range and Riot never intends to make one. Turrets just have a unit range. The alert doesn't alert you that a Turret has spotted you more as it does just tell you "INC ( 200 ( 1.25 )^( number of shots-1 )!!!!"
I mean, I remember everyone complaining when they buffed them. (which season was that again?) Tanks are just popular right now.
something about 4500hp tanks giving no fucks about the punny 200 damage tower shots.
