At one point Cinderhulk was basically the only viable jungle item, no one on this forum complained about it and some even went as far to say it was the most balanced META ( which is B.S ) But now that runeglaive and devourer have taken over everyone is bitching non stop and demanding nerfs. What is this forums obsession with tanks and hatred for anything that isn't a tank meta?
Zmuecat6 votesReally? While we are very support and jungle bandwagon oriented, I do believe that most of us just don't like having the game turn into 'which champ can kill everyone on the map the fastest' or 'who can farm the jungle then come out of it an unstoppable killing machine'.

Because although it was a wet noodle fight, it was better than Garen running around dealing more damage than an assassin, or Kayle running in and 3 shotting you while being invulnerable.

3sTbGoP7ES3 votesBecause majority of the players in this forum are Bronze-silver players that only play tanks. And tanks are the easiest to play champions both in solo-lane and in teamfights. Why would these low-elo players complain about their main, easy to play, tank champions that require the least amount of mechanical skill?
And apparently any champion that does immense amounts of damage or has mobilty to kite tanks like assasins (Zed, Fizz, Le Blanc, Riven) , Devourer junglers, Adcs like Vayne and Kalista, etc are hated by these low-elo players. It all makes sense now, this is why we see 1000s of threads about please nerf Riven, Vayne, etc daily on this Boards because these are the champions that give tanks most trouble.
But the good thing is that Riot ignores them and gives 0 fks about these nerf threads. Riot balances stuff around high-elo.

Ratbert1 votesWell tanks never shine for too long, it took them maybe 6 months to bring cinderhulk into line. It'll probably take 8-12 for devourer.
AMYS GRAVE1 votesThe tank meta was the healthiest most diverse meta we had seen in a long time. After the first cinderhulk nerf we saw all kinds of junglers and top laners and supports come out. We saw warrior junglers, devourer junglers, magus junglers, they were all viable. Tanks weren't relegated to one lane and that opened up the possibilities of seeing other roles in other positions. Now every support has to be a tank because jungler needs to be devourer, and top lane needs to be a fighter. We have less options now that tanks are weaker in other lanes. That's why we like tanks. When tanks are viable they bring diversity across the entire map.

maokai isn't even top 10, i would argue that malphite is more of a bruiser than a tank, and while shen is popular there are 7 to 9 fighter/brusiers in the top 10 depending on how you count.
gnar is sort of half tank half fighter depending on his form and shen is top 10 as a tank with only one cc ability (it is impactfull though no doubt). The next cc heavy tanks on that top lane list are chogath and maokai at 18 and 19, so only really 4-6ish tanks in the top 20. I think its safe to say that tank top laners are not terribly popular.
