Why? Because over 53% win rate + over 10% pick rate sure isnt weak lel

Sona was the main champ I played to get to diamond this season and she legit felt like the most broken support after Janna. Outscales any support by far, is basically a god after 3 items, even has the best cc spell of all enchanters,..

Plus endless mana for 750 gold with a 250 (+ 50% AP) heal and a max 650 (+150% AP) shield for her team on ~4 second cooldown, 3.3 seconds with rank 3 ult. What exactly makes you say she is weak?

When making your point on her heal/shield power, don't add up the values per head to fling around the total value like it's the default value.
She IS weak as far as her kit goes. Pretty much one of the worst kits you could think of...but coin is allowing her to land her core items insanely fast. That has an effect on her overall solo queue viability because Sona's literally a glorified stat stick with a moderately enjoyable hentai catalogue. Not to mention that solo queue doesn't make for a good environment to highlight her kit's glaring weaknesses.
She DOES outscale any support, and Riot intentionally did this because they couldn't think of anything better to do with her during her mini-rework, which was done because Sona mains were just about livid with how little attention Sona got after her shitty update (and the mini-rework pretty much just dumbed her down further, honestly). Issue with Sona is that until you get to that point, you kind of suck. Well, that WAS the issue with Sona until we decided to buff the gold gen on coin for some reason and just never undo that mistake. Now you scale super fast as long as you don't feed. As long as you're still in the game, if your team actually groups with you for fights, you're pretty much the win condition.

Basically, Sona as a champion is hot trash, but Sona as a lump sum of items in an unorganized environment is cheese you can get away with. Coin takes this concept and amplifies the latter part.

Wait until Ardent gets nerf.

I would like to see you beat a good Thresh after the nerfs as Sona, you will probably won't even be able to get fed/do something/ have a reasonnable comeback unless your jungler camps your lane

I'm not going to say that Sona isn't strong, because she is strong, but listing out all the advantages she has while not describing any of her weaknesses is a bad argument. Even with tear she can still run out of mana pretty easily if she's using every spell off cooldown, and even with it she heavily delays Ardent Censer.

The biggest downside to Sona is that her CC is in her ult, vs Janna, Lulu, Thresh, Blitz, Alistar, etc who have it on their basic abilities. So, if someone is trying to murder your ADC, you better land that ult or your ADC is most likely dead vs a Lulu you can misclick her poly and still just ult the ADC to save them.

But, outside of that, she has insane poke in lane, a basic ability that can apply Ardent to her whole team, a built in mini Exhaust, group wide speed up, and an AOE stun.

You forgot how you can feed and lose early game, rush Ardent, exist in teamfights while missing every skillshot, and still win.

Also this is Boards, of course there are always people saying Sona is "weak". It's the "Sona worship central", actually.

The only thing you could really say is that her AP build pales in comparison to her full utility build, but that's mainly an issue with how busted support items are right now and how AP items are in the gutter

There's two answers to this.

With respect to the game at current, no, Sona is not weak. She's probably the best Ardent abuser in the game, she makes great use of the infinite mana from Coin more so than most champs and she loves all the bonus gold that Coin's giving her.

The thing is none of these are actually Sona's strengths, they're just strengths of busted items that synergise well with Sona. When you consider Sona's kit in isolation of the currently broken Coin/Censor she's incredibly underwhelming and very weak. She's being floated only because she has the best synergy with a couple of broken items.

So the answer is both yes and no, is she a weak champion right now? No. Will she be a weak champion when Coin and Censor get pulled into line? Almost certainly.

If you asked the average boards user to tell you how strong they'd think Singed is without looking at the stats, you'd receive answers ranging from garbage, weak, and average, but almost no one would be willing to say Singed is strong.

The reality? He's the highest winrate top laner is nearly every single region. The lesson? The playerbase has no fucking clue half the time when it's talking about champion balance.

She's not, but even if she was, she doesn't deserve any buffs until some skill and counterplay will be added to her kit

Granted Not the best type of buff before preaseason since she ll overcharge cdr with her normal build
